Opiate Overdose, Consciousness & Respiratory Depression

Interesting theory regarding the bupe. I would surmise in theory that if the bupe is administered with enough time (considering it's long onset) that it could definately be worth a try. In terms of bupes affinity, I think that the only opioids that could compete
are tramadol and fentanyl. Not entirely sure, so if someone has concrete evidence that would be great.

We had to break the door down to get to a former roommate who had overdosed on iv H. My other roommate heard his hyperventilating breaths. My recollection was that this individuals breaths were very loud and labored and were getting less and less frequent. I would say he was taking a breath every 30 seconds or so and by the time paramedics arrived the breaths were probably less frequent. Doctors at the ER were certain that he would have died had my roommate not heard his extremely loud breathing. Once my roommate was discharged we asked him what he remembered. He said he remembered being really high and thats about it. My contention is that things went from blissful euphoria to lights out with him never being aware of the danger he was encountering.

Interesting thread was just thinking of something just like this. I always think when I'm laying in bed after doing a big dose of H, even on my phone reading articles that I'll stop breathing while im actually reading. One time I zoned out reading this thing on a rave website, eyes open scrolling down page and like 5mins later I could of swore I stopped breathing and instantly checked my pulse and panicked a bit. You guys don't think that's possible to have enough CNS depression you stop breathing while awake?

As said.. if you're awake and conscious, you're ok.

However, I think this is worth repeating just for emphasis - just because you're conscious, does NOT mean its safe to go to sleep by choice.

What if you injected someone who was oding with suboxone would that bring you back? I feel like it would but would you guys consider this a potentially deadly od .. On this night I took 4mg Xanax 20 mg hydrocodone and 9bags of really high quality shit ending with a 6 bag shot in my bathroom at 12 am I woke up 6 hours later on the ground tie still on my shit scattered everywhere .. Looking back I was so dumb I would never to a 6 b shot of quality shit like that ever!! Let alone with the other drugs in my system I think my judgement was severely clouded by the Xanax but man shit was fucked up and the worst part is the first thought I had was shit I jus wasted that high

Yes that would work, technically. Bupe is a half antagonist, and has a much higher binding affinity than other opiates, which is why it causes PW's when taken too early. So, in the case of somebody OD'ing on opiates, if they take bupe, it has the same effect as a shot of Narcan.
