Hello-
I used oxycodone 60-120mg for about four months straight and went through withdrawal symptoms for about 4 days. Im wondering what y'all think is a good limit on usage/dosage to avoid withdrawals. I want to be able to use recreationally bit also want to avoid withdrawals....what is a good frequency of use to avoid withdrawals??
Thanks!

I was on 60-120mg per day for a month...I wanna no what frequency of use is recommended to get high but avoid wd ....like get high once a week 2 times a week etc...

if you went back to using even just once a week you'll eventually end up back were you were. this is something a lot of addicts try - myself included - and fail at. once you cross over into full on psychological and physical addiction there's usually no going back to occasional using.

honestly, from one opiate addict to another, this is your opiate addicted brain trying to rational a way to use responsibly which you already know you have trouble controlling. if you want to remain withdraw free then don't use.

i really don't think it's possible but if you try this i'd say no more than once a month and even that is pushing it. if you are able to pull that off i imagine it being like hell. waiting all month for that one hit then the urges you'd have to fight after that. it'd be much easier on yourself to stay clean or make the decision to use again as you please.

well when i go to detox they dont care how much opiate you use and the give you methadone for 5 days 15,15,10,10,5 you still feel crappy but its helps alot... but if you are just trying to maintain and not get high but not get sick you would need about 20-30 to avoid withdrawals.. but your not going to feel that dose at all ...the thing with me is that i would always say i wanted to do what your doing and always end up doing like 300mgs a day... it would also be better to do like 20 in the morning and 10 at night to avoid w/d .... when i was using oxy its usally about 16 hours when i would start feeling sick so you would prob want to sapce it out into 2 dose's

i also agree with acid_staind i went 3 months clean then i got high for 3 days and woke up feeling like shit i couldn't believe 3 days of use got me sick as a dog...

Ive tried oxys but never get any euphoria, I did get high & it took my back pain away better than Vicodin but never got the euphoria everyone claims to get.

I just recently took 60mg after being off all opiates for a couple years and got very mild relaxation, no euphoria. I actually felt uncomfortable. I couldn't ever get settled in. I had so much to do but my body just wanted to lay down and I couldn't so I became irritable and only had a mild head buzz. I'm not suggesting anybody take 60mg after being abstinent from opiates for long periods, I started with 20mg and then bumped myself to 40mg and then 60mg after being off the Suboxone for 72 hours and not one time did I feel anything euphoric. Maybe its not for me anymore.

Not like I want to suggest opiates, but do you think it could be suboxone still in your system built up from taking more than just one dose but suboxone regularly? (if thats even the case)
Because it kind of sounds like the uncomfortableness of a large opiate dose but without the actual effects.

Also I think the threads about what Ive learned is called chipping? Is it even called that with small doses?

With strong willpower, does anyone believe it to be possible to stick to a strict once a week thing, without degrading back to every day. Avoiding withdrawals completely?
This is a question I am asking myself lately.

It very well could be the Suboxone. I questioned it myself. But I figured that after 72 hours my receptors would be clean. It just didn't make sense why I didn't feel anything but it sucked because it was hard going 72 hours without the Suboxone.

many times have I gotten off of something, by replacing it with something weaker, this most recent time, it was kratom, but I had a quarter pound of kratom and used it all in 2 and a half weeks, turns out that the Withdrawal from that was as bad as what I was originally using, and then after a few days I was feeling a little bit better, but still not sleeping so I caved in and got ONE bottle of codeine syrup, well after that was gone it was like I started ALL over again on my WD, quite shitty cycle if u ask me. now here is the IMPORTANT: part, if you want to avoid withdrawals all together... Then just use once a week, or less, that's it, leave at least 4 to 5 days between uses AND take longer breaks every so often in between, your body is much less likely to grow dependent on the medicine this way.
Be safe and Have fun!!

Tapering off by yourself takes a lot of discipline. One day you say, "Ok, I have four OC's left, and I'll take only 1 today, half tomorrow morning, half by afternoon, and then slowly break the remaining two into smaller pieces to taper down".

Then, you try to taper, but you still want to feel high, while tapering down. For me, it wasn't possible :( I'd take 4 OC-30's, then say I'll only use 1 today. By the end of the night, I only had 1 OC left 8)

You keep telling yourself its ok, you can always pick up more. Until on my last trip, I saw my dealer getting arrested by undercover cops for selling that shit for so long in his town.. I was forced to quit nearly abruptly... now you're dying to taper off the way you originally wanted to.

Part of the reason why people end up doing this shit everyday is because of accessibility and supply. If you can always buy more easily, then why not finish these two and make a call tomorrow to pick up? Its SOOOO good... everyday... at first I knew they were addictive. So I did oxy only on the weekends for a year straight, but it soon turned into an every day obsession. Once my supply lines were cut off one by one by increasing DEA raids in the news, I was in a world of hurt! If you can pickup anytime you wanted to by just picking up that phone, quitting will not be easy.
