opiate CEV's

Whenever i nod from opiates, i'll get CEV's. I'm not dreaming because i can still hear what's going on around me and still scratch from the opi-itch, so what exactly causes these? It's almost like dreaming while still being awake....it's hard to explain. Anyone have any thoughts as to what causes this?

I've experienced this many times (pretty much every time I nod, actually). I've always thought it was due to my brain starting to dream even though I was still sort of awake. Although the nod is pretty much of a state of being somewhere between waking and sleeping.

I wish I could give you a more specific reasoning for it but that's all I know. You're not the only one that it happens to, though.

Yes I think there is a difference between the nod dreams and CEV's. Hard to explain why I think they are different but I think because when I am tripping I am more than a little wide awake while watching CEV's. In the land of the nod I am almost asleep so the visions have less meaning to them. They sort of just take me away to a dream like state for a few minutes.

I can agree with that. I do think this thread would do better in Other Drugs since its focusing on a specific experience with one of their drugs of focus. OD mods, feel free to shoot this back over to BDD if you feel it would get better discussion here.

very similar to what NeighborhoodThreat said: i consider myself dreaming when this happens. just barely asleep, so what is happening around me is having a huge impact on my dream. plus i am high on an opiate, and that makes my dreaming feel really lucid.

or wait, are we talking about something that is specifically not that? i don't hallucinate on opiates; i nod and dream. like i think people are saying. siht, i also drink.
