Opioids Opiate/benzo dosage

Hi all!

I normally have an opaite tolerance of 80mg oxy. Today, I took a 50mg vyvanse at 1 pm with 60mg(CWE'd) Vicodin. I then took 4 more Vicodin at 6:30pm(not CWE'd) barely felt either vicodin dose. I am going to be coming down soon(i hope)and need to make it to work tomorrow morning in decent shape. I have 5 Vicodin left and 4mg of Xanax. Since I am a novice with uppers and benzos I am wondering if anyone has any safe recommendations on what to take to come down nicely and when?

Do not mix benzodiazepines with opioids under any circumstances, except under the direct orders of your supervising physician.

For stimulant comedown, with no opiates involved, You should be fine with 1-1.5mg xanax, 2mg TOPS.

Do not mix xanax with hydrocodone.

Thank you for the advice - do you think I am safe to take benzos soon despite my previous taking of the Vic's?

Short answer: no, don't chance it.

Longer answer: When was your last dose of hydrocodone, in terms of hours. 1pm for you and 1pm for me are likely two different time zones.

My last dose of hydrocodoen was 2 hours and 15 minutes ago. My first dose was 8 hours ago.

OP, you really want to wait until most of the hydrocodone metabolites are eliminated. With a half life median of 4.5 hours, I would recommend waiting at least 6 hours before dosing any benzos. And as TRI said, 1mg of xanax should be plenty assuming you do not have a previous tolerance to benzos.

Be safe, without experience mixing these two substances you are chancing yourself towards significant respiratory depression and that can be dangerous.
