Opiate addiction/pain relief

First of all, it is a bad idea to try and get on a methadone program. Your first dose would most likely kill you if you lied to the doctor about heroin use. Secondly, taking diazepam and heroin will most likely kill you if you do not have a tolerance to both substances.

I know you think opiates is the answer, but try and look into other options.

From Wiki:
While conventional analgesic pain killers such as paracetamol (acetaminophen) or NSAIDs provide initial relief for some sufferers, the pain is often more neuralgic in nature, which often does not respond well to these drugs.[11]
An alternative approach is for pain modification, for which off-label use of low-doses of Tricyclic antidepressant that have anti-muscarinic properties (e.g. Amitriptyline or the less sedative Nortriptyline) generally prove more effective.

Has your doctor tried any of the tricyclics?

Have you looked into supplements that control tolerance? NMDA antagonists are supposed to slow down the development of tolerance, if you cut back heavily on the painkillers for a month or two then started using DXM or magnesium concurrently, it might help you prolong their ability to kill the pain.

I haven't really thought about NMDA antagonists, I will have to look into them though: anything that will help reduce my tolerance would be a huge help. DXM really does not agree with me very well though.

Well they won't reduce it, only prevent it building further. To reduce it you'll need to take a break from the painkillers.

I'm not sure what kind of doses you're talking about with the DXM, but the dose to impede tolerance is much lower than the dose that induces a dissociative high. It's just the normal spoonful used as directed, iirc. Magnesium is supposed to have a similar effect.

I feel your pain though, no pun intended, it sucks having to deal with being in pain on a regular basis, I hope for your sake you find a working treatment.

Why did your remove your question Blood+?

It was a good question, and other could benefit from it.

It also looks as though some people get relief from baclofen.

Methadone is sum awful shit. Only benefit is that it lasts a very very long time as its a controlled release. Please dont mix benzos and whatnot with opiates. U could end up killing urself. May i ask u what pains u have?

Methadone is not controlled release.

It just has an extremely long half life.

My experience with methadone was a terrible 3 month nightmare that i never want to repeat for as long as i live.

If i ever got methadone again, it'd be going down the toilet before i ever drank the shit
