My sister and law was heavily addicted to painkillers and started using Opana. I know its "Oxymorphone" some hybrid form of oxy and morphine? but anyways she was snorting (even though they turn to gel upon contact) 30mg slow release pills. Shortly after she started having seizures and minor spells of complete loss with reality similar to that of someone who's just used H. Can anyone tell me if they have had a similar experience?? can opana cause seizures??

opiates dont usually tigger seizures. maybe theyre just not right for your sis. opana is not a psychedelic drug. it is not made from oxy and morphine, it just has similar effects as a strong opiate

I thought opana was designed so that if a person tries to snort it, nalexone
is released. Maybe it's a different drug I'm thinking of?

your thinking of the myths that big pharma has spread about "suboxone" not opanna, opanna is just a bad ass opiate.

I dont know of opiates causing people to have seizures unless they overdose, and then I am not sure if that would be called a seizure technically or if it could just be misinterpreted as one.

Either way, If someone is doing anything that causes them to have seizures that can not be good.

About the "spells of complete loss of reality" It sounds like she is just getting really high and nodding out. Thats totally normal for opiates.

I hope your sister in law gets her shit straight, I have been fighting an opiate addiction for years, and I am finally at the point where I dont want to get high all the time, but I am still on suboxone for maintenance, and dont see myself coming off of it anytime soon.

hey guys sorry i didn't meant to post it on the psychedelic thread I had the psychedelic thread open and the "other drugs" open and I used this one... anyways I thought the same thing because the opiate would relax the muscles rather than have them seize up. I do believe she was overdosing and possibly some Xanax mixed in.

Opana is oxymorphone, which is a synthetic derivative of morphine, just like oxycodone is a synthetic derivative of codeine. It's not made out of oxy (oxycodone I assume you meant) and morphine. But I can see how someone would think that if they didn't really understand what the substances were.

EDIT: Thanks whoremoaning... unexpected, but thanks. I was just about to move it to OD and saw that I didn't have permission to and I was a little confused.

I was really hoping this would be a good thread about Opana (maybe it’ll still turn out that way) I’m planning to see if my pm doc will switch me from 100mg ms contin t.i.d. to whatever the equivalent of opana is; or if in fact that’s worth doing according to people here who know

If she was taking xanax n stopped it will cause seizures dependimg on the useage n mg.
