I started getting a nice high off the 5mg Opanas now I have to take 3 5's just to get any effect. What can I do to lower my tolerance so 2 or 1 idealy would work again? Or is this impossible?

Stop taking them for a good while. That's about the only option as far as I'm aware. The only other way is up. And up is not such a good place to go.

If I switch to something else like going back to pot or adderall will that effect my tolerance to the opana? Or do I have to stop everything at once. I am sorry to ask such a stupid question but I just don't want to end up being 40 and taking 100mg of opana at one time to get through the day. But, I also don't want to stop everything and go back to being bored and depressed for no reason, especially when I know what I am missing out on.

Yup. Just avoid all opiates for a while - no point switching to a different one as that will only maintain or increase your tolerance. Any other drugs you choose to use should be fine and not affect your opiate tolerance. Be aware that it can take a long time for opiate tolerance to drop and be careful if/when you start to use them again as overdosing is a risk so start low if you restart opiate use.

Primal365: Tolerance sucks eh? =( been there, felt that way. But yeah as others have stated, you can do weed and adderall all you like. The only think that will affect your tolerance to Opana is other opiates (like oxycontin, vicodin, morphine, etc).
There are a few users on this forum who have managed to keep their tolerance at a regular level despite years of use following a simple but somewhat unsatisfying formula: Take the same amount every time, no matter what. Over time the high will diminish, but as long as you never up the dose (and if you're not using MEGA often), you'll still be able to feel it. I can attest to a constant dose still having impact after months, but obviously the effect is a bit muted. It won't have the knocking-you-off-your-feet effect, you have to focus on it and be happy with a mild buzz.

Here's a question: how are you taking them? If orally, you're wasting most of the drug because of low oral bioavailability. Try snorting or (even better) plugging one pill and it may very well give you the same effect as swallowing 3.

Also, I can attest to the steady dosage rule. I was plugging dilaudid for over a year before the effects noticeably diminished. I was always keeping the dose the same.
Now what I do is keep my dose the same during the week and just live with the reduced buzz, but take more on the weekend for some fun.

So what you guys are saying is that if you take the same dose your tolerance wont go up? In my experience, i felt like if i stayed at the same dose my tolerance DID raise no matter how much i resisted it, and eventually there was no more high or buzz at that same dose (talking about OC here). Or are you saying this only applies for some?

A therapeutic dose of dxm, or magnesium supplements may help a *little*, but really your best bet is to take a break.
