Opana to Morphine Pump

So, a friend of mine.. is currently taking Oxymorphone in the form of 2 40mg Extended Release Opana tablets and 3 10mg Instant Release Opana Tablets per day for Chronic Pain as the result of a spinal injury. They are discussing a Morphine Pump with their pain mgmt. doctor and are concerned that it may cause a problem if they get the pump and their doctor does not supply sufficient morphine to equal their Oxymorphone use because they had been chewing them during usage and have a much higher tolerance then they should have according to the fact that they would have a much lower tolerance if taking them as prescribed.
Just looking for an FYI, as I know there is no real solution to this issue.

What exactly is your question?

Your friend should be honest with their pain management doctor as far as them having to chew the oxymorphones to get enough relief from their pain.
