Sooo...long story short...been doing opiates for a good 4 years now. Started with hydro 5s, then perc 10s, then roxi 30s, and finally...the king Tut, Mr. Opana. Needless to say, Ive been dumping old friends and started to move on with my life in all aspects recently. Anyhow, I have been doing Tramadol for the last year to calm myself down and try to not spend huge amounts of money on Opanas, but it doesnt always go so well and I always go back to the yellow octagons. But...I am moving across the country in a month and will have to basically shut off all urges to Opanas since Ill be in a new area and whatnot. Should I just go to my dr and tell him whats going on and hope he prescribe me Subs, or should I just keep doing the Trams and slowly taper off? Thanks guys

I personally would try doing the tramadols as once you tell your doctor you're a drug addict, it basically makes it impossible for you to get any type of controlled medication, even if you really need it.

With you being on opiates for 4 years, I would definitely try the Suboxone route.

Most doctors don't prescribe Suboxone though, but go here to find one that actually can.

I would also suggest reading the Suboxone mega thread because it has a myriad of information.

wow...I always thought that my dr would prescribe me subs. (I thought thats what my friends did, I could be wrong though). So basically, should i just keep syphening from my gfs tram supply till I feel comfortable to slowly keep tapering off? By the sounds of what you guys are saying...it isnt a good idea to tell my dr anything? If it matters at all....I have to consume 20-30mg of Opana nasally to feel anything.

If you can get by doing the tramadol, I would go with that route...otherwise, you might have to go the suboxone/methadone route.

Here's my situation- unemployed student in college. (Im graduating with my Bachelors next month in December, moving to Florida in January for change of scenery and to find a job with my degree.) Basically, I have a lot of free time on my hands unless Im doing homework or in class, the free time is what really kills me, I always think about getting high. I take Tramadol everyday just to feel normal, without it I am cranky, can't sleep, and just have no energy whatsoever- when I take Trams, I don't get the intense urge to get any Pans. I cannot survive in class without it basically. I was clean from Opanas for the last two months up until last week, but I have been on a binge ever since, which gets me worried about the future. I just don't know what to do, but I COULD live without some kind of opiate, I would just be in hell, which is what I'm trying to aviod somehow. Sorry for the rant, just looking for some kind of advice, I feel lost.

Thanks for the suggestion Doug. I might have to look into the sub route. I'm guessing they aren't covered by insurance though, correct?

That's going to vary from one insurance company to the next. I've heard that even if they are covered, they're still expensive as fuck lol.

Fuck, Ive got Medicaid right now. I know damn well they arent going to cover it. Guess I just have to stick with the Trams. Fuckin Opanas are the devil, they are just too good.

Just Wondering- If I went to one of those doctors on that list and tell them I have an opiate problem, will they just prescribe subs, or will I have to go thru some kind of therapy and whatnot?

If I were you and I could get by with Tramadol I would definitely do so instead of getting suboxone. Buprenorphine is one of the hardest opioids to quit because it's so long acting, its very expensive and just plain sucks... among other things. If you are at the point where you can survive on Tramadol it should be a no-brainer to just stick to the tram until you either quit entirely or go back to your DOC. If you are considering long-term maintenance however then I would possibly go with the bupe. Remember though, it is a BITCH to come off of if you are taking it for more than few weeks and it will raise your tolerance even to your DOC. Seriously, if you go with bupe now then plan on being dependent on opioids for a very long time, possibly forever if you ride the bupe train too long.

Also, to answer your question about doctors: Some of the doctors that prescribe sub will simply give you a physical, piss and blood tests, etc and then prescribe the medication. Other doctors will monitor your doses very closely and/or require that you attend a counseling program or group program simultaneously. They are generally more forgiving if you became dependent on the medication via pain meds which were prescribed by a doctor rather than an addiction fueled by copping on the streets. I called an office to ask about subs one time and they asked me if I was prescribed the medication by a doctor, I told them no that I was buying it online (poppy pods, high potency kratom extracts) and they very rudely told me that they only accept patients who became dependent via a doctor. You need help with your addiction and your reaching out to a doctor for assistance? Ok. Oh you bought the shit online? FUCK OFF ASSHOLE! I don't trust a sub doctor or his staff as far as I can throw em' (I think that's the saying, isn't it? lol)

I would love to stick to the Trams but Im personally not prescribed them, my gf is, and she is hesitant giving them to me because of the situation, although I can usually get her to give me some, or I just "borrow" some :o. This is leaning me towards the Subs since I wouldn't get prescribed Trams since I have no source of pain, besides IBS. It is very hard for me to wake up and realize that I have no sort of opiate, I honestly can't function and become fatigued/depressed. I have heard Trams being prescribed to people who are depressed, which I do get very often. But my dr would probably just prescribe me Zoloft or some shit.

Yeah, they won't prescribe you tramadol for depression. Trust me, I know how you feel about not being able to function mentally and physically but in my case it's even worse and I get very very sick without some sort of opioid. But the good news is that tramadol is legal to buy online and there are tons of sites which offer 180 50mg pills overnighted for a cheap price. Also, I don't know if you've ever done sub before but please remember that it's only a partial agonist. It hardly even feels like doing an opiate unless you've been taking it for a long time and then you might get a minor 'glow'. In my experience suboxone does not help with the mental aspects (and some of the physical) of opiate withdrawal or depression and surely does not provide that same mental comfort that a full agonist opioid would. Bupe is really a shitty drug for anything other than long term maintenance and 5-day quick tapers. Trust me, it does NOT feel like a regular opiate... it feels like your completely dead sober except you will not get physically sick due to a lack of opiates. But it still feels like you haven't taken any opiates even when you're on it... you just simply don't get sick.

Youve actually purchased Tramadol on-line? Its really legit? I wouldnt want to order some and then get a bunch of erectile dysfuction laced stuff. And no, I've never dabbled with Subs, always had some way to get Trams so I never went for it.

Yes I've done it many times, tramadol is not technically a controlled medication. Just make sure you order from a legit site and not a scam site. Most of the tramadol sites are legit unlike the sites which pretend to sell controlled medicines. Generally if you look for a tramadol site that ships fedex overnight and sells a maximum quantity of 180 pills its *probably* legit. Look up the reviews if you need help.
