Opioids Opana Overdoses?

As I've scanned the news for various opiate-related stories, I've noticed a distinct lack of material concerning Opana-related overdoses. Given oxymorphone's potency and the quantity contained in various ER formulations, I'm pleasantly surprised. This suggests to me that the TimeRx formulation is doing exactly what it is intended to do - making it difficult-to-impossible to inject Opana ERs.

Even so, I would expect to see a few deaths related to snorting. It's definitely possible to OD from intransal Opana if you're not careful, but so far I have yet to see any hysterical front-page stories about how the "Opana scourge" has led to multiple deaths in communities which had previously been dealing with Oxycontin and fentanyl.
 
from what ive seen opana is not nerely as perscribed as oxycodone. i have only come accross it a handful of times. maybe thats the reason?

I am guessing that is a good part of the reason, although I'd be surprised if Fentanyl was prescribed a LOT more frequently thah Opana and there are innumerable reports of people dying from abusing fent patches. And since an Opana ER40 contains enough oxymorphone to kill a couple of opiate-naive people if taken intravenously, I'd expect to see at least a few people found dead after getting their hands on this stuff.

hard for me to imagine opiate naive people going right for the needle. i've actually seen patches much more then i have seen opana.
 
i googled it and found an article about a few kids who died in newport, so dont fear! people are dying somewhere from opana ;)
 
nobody knows what it is. I ha to convince a friend to take one of mine instead of buying an OC20.
I get the IR which one could shoot if one chose to. The timerx are pretty much impossible to abuse except by insuffulation, you are correct.
