Opana 5mg makes me sick?

So I have a pretty good tolerance to pain killers. Been doing them for some years now. Ive done opana 5mg before (I sniff them) but anyways every time I do them they make me puke is it because they are so strong? Anyone experience this? Thanks <3

I think maybe oxymorphone is not suitable for you. I never get any nausea from opioids except for morphine.

I think to better answer, we need to better understand your tolerance. For example pick another opiate you've done recently and the dose you were comfortable at.

well i ususally sniff 60mg of oxycodone at once with no issues never feel sick or anything just with opana it makes me sick almost everytime I do one. One of my friends said maybe Im allergic to something in it?

Might be allergic to one of the fillers or something. I'd think if you weren't allergic to oxycodone, oxymorphone wouldn't play a part either, but I know little about the pharmacokinetics involving the oxys.

It could still be an issue of dosing as well. Oxycodone drops in bio availability when taken inter nasally. Oxymorphone on the other hand has a low oral bio availability. Since this is what most conversion charts you see are based on it creates the illusion that the morphone is only about twice is strong.

Comparing nasal doses is a whole different story. Dose lower and I'd bet thing go much better.

Fantastic point. I'd forgotten about BA and ROA in this case

Yeah, i agree that depending on your body specifics, the 5mg nasal of OM could be stronger than the 60mg oral of the OC. Nausea/vomiting is a pretty clear cut indication that the dosage is just too high.

Alright thanks so much for the information! so oxycodone is better when ingested then? is that a stupid question? :x

I don't think the 5mg of Opana is stronger than 60mg oc even if insufflated. even if its 10x stronger that's only at 50mg. on the other hand the ROA for oc is at 60% I believe for insufflation. so that's 36mg of oc, if my math is right.
BUT, since you're new to Opana I bet your body just isn't used to the effect of the drug. Opana is a very strong PK. I'd assume once your body gets used to the drug you won't puke.
i've gone from roxicodone30mg to opanaER40mg and i can tell you I took 40mg of opana insufflated and nodded a couple hours later. (it takes 210MGroxy for me to nod) it never made me puke.

^ Just to add to this point, it often gets overlooked that cross tolerance between opiates is not complete. I think this in combination with my earlier explanation is at the least a possibility. Then again, one can't just rule out that an allergy could be present.

cross tolerance between opiates is not complete

That's the thing to remember - some opiates will make me much more nauseous than others at comparatively lower doses. I mean heroin doesn't but codeine still almost makes me throw up every time for some reason - oxys as well make me more nauseous. All opiates are not equivalent in their side-effects. If you get nauseous from 5mg opana, take less.
