Ive had that stuff happen to me before but it depends mostly on the police. I have been let away with outrageous things where we could have racked up thousands of dollars worth of fines. So ya it's not that Canadian law is soft so much it's just that in some regions you are let off very very easy compared to say America
 
^ It all really depends on the cop. Ive had cops give me shit over having rolling papers in my car (even though I roll my own cigarettes and had the fuckin loose tobacco next to them) askin me where the weed was and shit, and I actually had a cop pull me over when I was a teenager on a burn cruise on this dirt road about 1/2 a mile from my house and tell me that the shit I was smoking smelled pretty good and to get home, so it all depends on who ya get.

it depends on the region. in an upper middle class white region, i've had only positive encounters with the police.

my friends and i, and my cat, were in the car once... a cop pulled me over because i forgot to turn my lights on for a minute... i was nervous, and when he asked what we were doing, i said "chilling with the cat" (lol...:o)

-.- he let us go, and we had just hotboxed plenty of weed.

if i was in a minority poor neighborhood, i'd have been so fucked.

either way, i'll feel a lot more safe when i move to a medical-cannabis state...
