Does anyone know of any sites that will give you a welcome bonus of real money to play online poker with?

I know about the *must win 100 times the bonus amount before you can withdraw* rule but am interested in seeing how i play again others using "real" money without having to lose any.

Atm I'm just practising on a play money site but obviously i know that it's gonna be a completely different ball (card) game when real money is involved.

Thanks in advance.

hey rickolasnice, alot of the sites have offers sky bet has £10 when u sign up, they have a poker client so goodluck :) pm me if u want to talk about strat or anything, i think that sky bet sucks dick tbh but if ur just wanting to test the waters then go with that for now, pokerstars, 888, fulltilt are the main reccomendations but as u say they have bonus's once u have deposited and played a bit

online poker. shit ate months of my life and never got anything big out of it. was fun though.
this was the most addictive thing i have ever done too... glued to the screen with heart racing and adrenaline keeping me up all night

good luck man, sorry i dont know any site like that. but i assure you, the real emotions start when you play your *own* money. play money is just the same as real money if that aint yours

Thanks guys :)

Will check out skiybet.. is it poker vs other players or AI? (I don't trust AI in gambling games)

Heh. That's one thing I'm wary of getting into.

There was one morning I woke up to a pile of empty beer cans, an ashtray overflowing with roaches, a laptop whose battery had run out of juice and my open wallet, debit card already taken out of it ..... and no memory of what it was that I had obviously been so desperate to get hold of, in my shitfaced state, that I had decided to order one there and then.

In the end, I had to wait a whole 'nother day to find out what it was -- when the delivery van arrived with the package.

Which was actually a Palm Tungsten. Phew!
Ever since then I've been wary about spending money online, even on buying actual stuff. Now, I've no issue with gambling as a concept; but I do think it's important never to bet more than you could afford to lose, no matter how likely you think you are to win. Which is why, on such occasions as I feel like placing a bet at a bookie's, playing the slots or attending a real-life poker game, I count out my stake money carefully before venturing out of doors and don't take any extra with me. And I find the idea of playing no-limit Texas Hold 'em online, with no-one to tell me to stop, funded by a credit card with a limit of nearly two months' wages, a little bit too scary.

I've already set myself a strict set of rules if i ever did get into the world of real online poker..

I will only play with what i don't mind losing.. if it drops below that i will stop..

I'll also have a win limit.. once I've won a certain amount i will quit.

Until the next day ;)

Yeah. You have to stick to some rules. (And maybe introduce a few pointless rules you can break without doing much harm.)

A win limit is a sensible idea. If you set yourself a series of smaller win targets -- a new pair of shoes, a musical instrument, a new computer, a holiday, a car, a nice hydroponics setup, pay off your mortgage -- then take a break from playing once you have reached each sub-target.

Maybe even open yourself a new bank account, just for your poker activities, and arrange a monthly or weekly transfer of funds for your stake money. That way, you can compartmentalise the poker playing away from the rest of your life.

Well im only thinking little moneys for now..

Like If i get £100 to go in with.. i won't let it drop below 50.. and i will quit when it gets to £200..

This give me £200 for the next time i want to play.. but again i'd only go in with 100 with the same rules.. and so on..

i dont think so on the normal platforms, probably could be done on playmoney platforms though, no? :)

Aye it seems that is the case :( Just wanted some free money to see if i was good enough to play with my own money.. Guess I gotta get saving..

Anyone know the lowest.. can't remember what it's called i aint slept.. umm.. buy in?

So like everyone brings £50 to the table.. anyone know what's the cheapest?

hehe free money is not the same as your own money...

ive played tournaments as low as 1$...

There used to be a large thread on this forum for ways of making money. In there Mugz posted a poker training site, when you've done the training you get free cash, and can choose which site to have it for. Have a look through and see if they're still doing it, I suspect they will cuz it was an old post when I read it.

I played for a bit, doubled my cash from $25 to $50, then got bored of playing just to win $3 (I was sticking to the 'bankroll' rules). I might enter a $50 buy in match and see if I can make some big bucks

Easier to win in some ways...people tend to play as they should and fold earlier if they have shit or if you behave like you have an amazing hand... You dont get so many twats getting lucky with the 4th or 5th

I noticed in the really noob rooms you get a lot of people going all in straight away.. turning the game into a game of pure luck.. get's really boring,

^ if playing for cash i personally would avoid no-limit.

Just suits my tight / aggressive style

If I have, say: A queen and a 10..

On the table there are a 9, 9, 10, Q, and 3

The other player has a Q and K..

Who wins?

q & K - as 2nd card is higher

i tend to stick to phil's top ten....but get looser once i have a better feel for how the others are playing [ i like 10 player tournaments for this reason ]

1. AA
2. KK
3. QQ
4. A-K suited
5. JJ
6. 10-10
7. 9-9
8. 8-8
9. A-Q suited
10. 7 - 7

edit!!!!!!!!!!!!

no you win as you have the higher of the 2 pairs !!
