How Does Cannabis Affect the Brain?

The Powers Lab at Yale University is recruiting people who are planning to use cannabis for
a fully online study that measures how cannabis affects basic perception and learning using
brief games and questionnaires.

*** NOTE: If you have completed our Psychedelics Study, you should NOT complete this one! However, if you were ineligible to participate, you are more than welcome!

WHAT DOES THE STUDY INVOLVE?

- 4 Hours of Questionnaires and games (though you can take breaks).
- Signing a consent form and completing an eligibility survey.
- 6 Questionnaires about cannabis drug use, mental health, and how you think.
- 4 Online games (10-25 minutes per game) through two time points.
- 2 Zoom calls with a researcher as you play the games.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO START?

- A computer (not a smartphone or a tablet)
- Stable internet
- Good headphones
- A private, distraction-free place

WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS GET?

- $120 via digital VISA gift card (sent via email), Amazon gift card (emailed), Prolific account (direct),
or MTurk account (direct)

HOW DO I START?

move through the screening survey, questionnaires, and games.

I am planning to do the psychedelic study. Does that mean I should not do this one first?

Hello! Yes, unfortunately, that means you should not participate in this study. We are looking for individuals that only use cannabis! Thank you so much for your interest!

i was a smoker since i was 13. My biggest escalation was from 21 to 24 where i was smoking around 50g per month
Now i smoke only before sleep as i have severe insomnia or sometimes 2-3 times a week or some weeks not at all.
Would i qualify for the study?
 
do studies require one to be a member of bluelight? or that the answers to the study are actually right or wrong?this forum is not flagged for catfishing, however the title suggests one thing and the options to compensate participants is on redcap are unsubstanciated...... at least harvard has a psychedelic club for a decade now, grateful... Leary wouldve loved that! trying to get a community college degree for 15 years .... how did yall get accepted to yale and not know you could go in through blackboard and change every damn score.....how do i know these surveys are funded but do not go as far as baiting money for those they think only care about money
 
do participants need to use cannabis during the study sessions, or is it based on their normal planned use outside the games? Just want to be clear on how the timing works before signing up.:confused:

Yes! You will have to use cannabis during the second session with us! The first session you will not be using cannabis. We will use the data from both sessions :)
