"IME the bigger the initial dose, the more likely the trip is to have an anxious come-up, a hard time keeping up resulting in more chaos, sensory distortions, runaway trains of thought, though this can contribute to a sense of adventure. Whereas moderate initial dosing and steady boosting until 'saturated' is IMO more likely to become peaceful, crystal clear, profound, less restless visuals and other effects but potentially very deep immersion, more transparent but still with an underlying intensity potential that can quickly lead to breakthroughs. Especially when provoked using meditation or by boosting with nitrous, cannabis, dissociatives etc."
This sums up what I was gonna say to the dot. If I take a giant single dose I'm ultimately gonna trip harder but there's a sense of being overwhelmed that makes it harder do make the experience usefull as my mind is being thrown straight into the deep end. If I work my way up I will end up using a higher dose but because I can ease into the trip at my own place the experience is alot more clear and I am able to dig through my head with comfort and ease. However, the choice I make is totally dependant on the substance, how long I wanna trip, and what I want out of the experience. If I'm at a social occasion like a psychedelic party or something then re-dosing is bound to happen, if I'm taking a long acting psychedelic like DOC or I don't have hours to give up then I won't be redosing, It's all dependant on the situation. I tend to combo alot, I would say at least 80% of my psychedelic experiences as of late involve combos as I find I can create my trips to my liking so that means that I will have to match up durations of substances and break through tolerance so redosing is pretty much standard for me and that would also be my prefferance to answer your question.
