One amphetamine + Memantine questiion

Hi!

It's well known that once you start taking Memantine on regular basis the effect of the amphetamine disappears more or less for three days. This is because of the downregulation of the nicotine receptor. BUT this is when you take Mematine regulary.

My qustion is what happens if you JUST take ONE 5mg Memantine pill and then stop? Will this lead to this three days disaster also? After all, Mematine though has a halflife of 200 hours

In order for a drugs effects to become completely negligible, one should wait about 5 half lives or so. A thousand hours might seem like a lot, but negative drug interactions aren't worth the instant gratification you get by skipping the wait. I am no expert on memantine interactions, I just did the math regarding half lives.

If you take memantine you will acutely block amphetamine, stop amphetamine for a few days and then your tolerance should be mostly reversed.
