Opioids On Methadone and now tramadol too, I feel sick...Anyone else get this?

I just went to the dentist yesterday after a year of agony with my methadone teeth snapping and chipping off at random....My back wisdom was pulled out and broke off and the dentist had to drill to get it out..I am in agony...Yesterday the dentist tried to give me a script for 20mg oxies, and i told her i didnt want it could i have something thats got no opioids in it and she said i better go to my methadone Dr and get a pain script...I thought thats ok, had a night of hell last night and went Dr today...He gave me tramadol 50mg and said take up to 3 trams every 4hrs...
I did that, and now i feel too sick to have my methadone dose of 85mg...Im on verge of vomiting as i type and i am trying to distract myself...How long will this go on for, dose anyone know?
I had many many tramadols in my life and have taken huge doses before, but none since i was put on MMT.

Is it reacting with the methadone thats in my system....Ive never felt nausious from methadone or trams in the past, but like i said, ive never had them together...I havent had my dose today because i feel sick and i am scared of losing it down the toilet!

Anyone out there take MMT and get put on tramadol? ANd do they react with other?
 
Not personally but it's obviously not working for you. Have you taken any Tylenol or Tylenol-containing products? If no, then I would recommend Alleve. I think that it is the best OTC NSAID available for post-op dental procedures when you cannot use an opiate.

I would certainly follow up with the doctor who prescribed the tramadol as well.
 
Ta Missy...He is the same Dr that prescribes my methadone...I dont go to any others anymore.
Ive done ALL the OTC drugs available and many many herbal ones too..
Every NSAID we have in Australia...Alleve, do you happen to know the active ingredient?...Ive used novacain based drops everything, Man ive punched myself in the face because ive been just over the pain...And the pain of the punch, takes away the pain in my mouth for just a second, ahh but worth it...
Ive been through some insane pain in the last several months from my teeth...And because ive got a massive dentis phobia, i let them go for too long..I have an apt to get the other wisdom out on wednesday, dentist says other tooth be healed by then...

Sooo sorry MIssy, Whats the active ingredient in your medication?...We may have similar here...But i mean if the methadone is not helping why would a tramal? I dont get it, why my Dr gave em to me really.....
 
Nausea settling a bit now...I usually take my methadone at about 10am ish....

EDIT: Nausea back with a vengence! AT 1.44pm...Am dying to eat something..Its been 3 days since i had solids!


MODS am i allowed to re ask this over in the methadone megathread?...I might get some answers over there?

Tramdol isn't something you take if you're on Methadone. I always thought it would act like bupe would but of course not as bad. Id discontinue the Tramadol.
 
Well my methadone Doc prescribed it, and he is a specialist...I did say that exactly too him as well..Anyway, Ive had two more this am...Feel like ive been hit in the head wit a baseball bat!
I think i may have forgotten how they affect me, and its been 7 years since i had an 800mg a day tramal habit....But i only had 150mg yesterday and it made me sick...I had very very empty stomach too, and the I.R just hit me!

Today I'm on my 8mg bupe and 300mg of tram, I through up multiple times but felt fine afterwards. If you are worried losing your dose down the toilet than force yourself to eat or drink something and try gagging yourself. If you really have to throw up then your body will force it.

Also, not eating will make you nauseous
 
Ta benzo bars..Yeah am sure its the food...Its hard to eat with a killer sore mouth...How long after i dose could i throw up and it wouldnt bring up methadone do you know?
 
When I take pills I try my hardest not to throw up between 45-90 minutes. If not I try to at LEAST wait 30.
 
At my clinic there is a list of drugs posted on the wall which they say not to take while on methadone -- including Ultram/Tramadol..so maybe there is some kind of bad combination with them.
 
I have not heard of any serious interactions between tramadol and methadone, but who knows.

I have felt what it sounds like you're suffering from OP once in a while when I take high doses of tramadol with my bupe. This usually happens after a couple consecutive days of high dose use. I'll basically get really nauseous and tired and have to lay down. Laying down is the only thing that helps, although I find hydrating myself and not taking any more tramadol to also make a positive impact. Like 45 minutes after I lay down I feel much better. And as long as I take a day or two off the tramadol I'm able to take high doses of it again with my bupe no problem. Of course bupe if not methadone, so...
