I've been on 2 mg of clonazepam daily for 2 years for anxiety disorder.and occasionally my doc gives me some half mg Xanax for panic attacks but I haven't taken them lately. Along with my antidepressant remeron ( mirtazapine )...

But in the last two months I've been like twitching its weird and I'ts never happened before til now it mostly happens I think when I'm laying down. And I'm on my Meds same mg daily.
I know I probably need to up my dose since I been on 2mg daily for two years tolerance.
But why am I twitching now does anyone have any advice or have had this happen ?????any ideas???

I'm gonna have to see my doctor soon and tell him and ask him to raise me to another 1 mg daily. but i really hope he doesn't see it as a sign to get me off of them , I know it's not good to be on them long term but I know mental health wise I'm not ready just yet. And I know I'm not addicted. Of course I'm dependent I been on them every day for two years but I know I'm not addicted cuz sometimes I forget to take my benzos for few hrs then finally remember when I wake up . But I know I'm addicted to opiates cuz the first thing I think of when I wake up is brown. Not benzos not benzos at all. Lol.

Thank you peace

Maybe you are going through a slight withdrawal from them? Or from opiates as well if you take those daily or often? Do you use other drugs at all?

I'm not sure though as I've never been addicted to either benzos, or opiates. At least talk to your doctor about this as it could be something not related to the benzos, or other drugs you take. Good luck.

I smoke brown black tar heroin. But it's never done that to me. Thanks I just wondered if anyone has experienced this or knew more about the subject than me. Ya it's weird I guess I'm gonna have to talk to my doc

Seems like a post hoc fallacy (post hoc ergo propter hoc, 'after this, therefore because of this'). How can you make a logical link from the prior event A (taking clonazepam) to the subsequent event B (twitching whilst laying down)?

Maybe something else caused or causes both the indication(s) for using clonazepam and these supine spasms, in which case your assumption constitutes a so-called 'third cause' fallacy.

My friend who smokes a lot of really good black tar says he thinks it's from the heroin. I been smoking it for two years but never twitched til past two months. And after he told me that I tried to forget about it but its happening again tonight and it's weird I was fallin asleep and then my whole body like twitched makin it move in a jerking kinda way waking me up.

But like I said I feel like it mostly happens when I'm laying down / going to bed

I had been using Xanax and etizolam daily for just a little bit over a year up until two weeks ago when I finally admitted that I had a problem that was spiraling out of control. Upon detoxing for two weeks in an in-patient hospital I returned home with the same meds they were using to detox me while I was there. After about a day I started getting random twitches in my legs and arms. It's really uncomfortable as I have never experienced involuntary movements in the body.

My detox medicines include seroquel, neurontin (gabapentin), vistaril, clonodine, and Lamictal (which I have taken 100 milligrams daily for going on three years). After detoxing for going on three weeks now, I would think by now I am passed the benzo withdrawals...I could be wrong in thinking that but Xanax is such a short acting benzo and the etizolam is technically considered a thienodiazepine, but should be taken just as seriously as the Xanax as it may as well be considered a benzodiazepine. Either after one year of daily use (multiple doses throughout the day) the Xanax and etizolam have built a great deal in my system and I am not completely done detoxing, or it's the detox meds themselves making my body twitch or semi convulse. Either way it is scary and I now worry about having a seizure.

I would think since you are taking your daily dose of clonazepam 2 milligrams per day you would be okay, especially since it is such a long lasting benzo. It could be it has just built up so much in your system after two years that you do need to be put up to three milligrams per day. I don't use any opiates so I can't say whether or not they have anything to do with the twitches. Either way the right decision would be to bring this up with your doctor. Best of luck!

But I feel like it has to do with my benzo medication. That I'm scripted.

Only other things I do is smoke Lil brown on foil. And smoke am e cig that's it

I haven't drank alcohol in two years
