Especially now that the fashion channel is off the air. FUCK ME! That was the best channel to watch on a comedown. Plus they'd play some wicked tracks on there too.

Never once watched the Fashion Channel, you should complain!

Foxtel only goes up to 52channels, i don't see why they can't just add another one!!

Anyway, tv is good, if your at home and got nothing to do, watch tv!! I only use a computer at work!!

However the only show, that I watch on the same day at the same time, is TheSimpsons 7.30 on a wednesday!!
Since the new series has been on, it's been great!! I'm either at home watching it or at the pub watching it!!

my main problem with television is the lack of activity or interaction involved i suppose. sitting motionless infront of a box, being fed images and sound which i dont really have any control over (besides channel surfing to find the "right" channel to be further fed images and sound) what is being fed into my mind.

i was having a smoke on the balcony, looked into the lounge at the tv and there was a short clip of the 9/11 explosion. it was kinda surreal, from my viewpoint on the balcony (or just that particular moment in time), i thought it was a scene from an action movie.

it's a numbing, prosaic activity.

television and print has become such a pervasive phenomena that a lot of people automatically place their trust in the information they receive with said medias.

i have a paranoia with mass media: i dont trust nor do i like the idea that what is being fed me, has been tailored by people i dont see and who's agenda i dont know.

television is akin to massive re-programming to me.

magazines targeted at males with hot, big-breasted women too

I barely watch TV anymore apart from a few select programs, I certainly give the mute button a workout as soon as adverts appear.


Its such a depressing thing when you think about it. Sitting down in front of pretty lights and moving photos totally motionless, turning off the brain.

Television is easily classified as a drug IMHO, its a simple and very easy way to escape reality.

I am ridding myself of it forever when I move out. Until then I have to deal.

I am an internet junkie however. This to me doesnt seem quite so bad as all I tend to do is get music and interact with other people talking about drugs and raves.

At least there is a bit of brain activity and thought going on when on the net

i really hate tv...i used 2 be addicted to it that bad that my life revolved around it where i was highlighting everything i wanted to watch a week in advance in the tv guide....pretty sad really but i was in a fucked relationship and i think it was filling a hole in my life or something and then....

i actually got a life (and a pc hehehe)

i quit cold turkey and never looked back...my life improved 100% since i stopped watching the idiot box and found other things to do

although now that my pc is sick again i have been watching it again im so bored

Tuesday: stingers, CSI and then Angel... how can you go past that!!! fucking awesome...

Monday: some interesting stuff that numbs the mind, and then BUFFY!!!! buffy rocks...

So in conclusion, as its almost 8:30 on a tuesday night, i am going to get me into a prime couch position and get ready to "stimulate" my brain with TV waves...

oh yeah, skithouse and survivor rock as well... (please don't take my likings of these 2 shows as indicative of my intelligence or taste... i am hooked goddammit... its like an addiction... no screw that it IS an addiction )

i really wouldnt miss my tv if it dissapeared tomorrow...most of the stuff thats on it right now is not worth the time of watching...im glad they have laid off the reality tv shows a bit...not as many of them around as there use to be 8)

I'm sick of them saying they're going to show it, then they show series 3 again.

Fortunately it's meant to be coming out on DVD in June, still gotta watch series 2 and 3 before then, but hey it's all good.

As for other tv shows they're a waste of my time as far as I'm concerned.

I've been trying not to laugh at FOX News all day... I used to hate it so much, now there is a war on they almost satirise themselves! Its like one big continuous episode of Frontline!

A more sobering detail is that nasty, horrible stuff is going down, and this "news" channel is the number one cable choice in America right now (well, according to their propaganda anyway). Holy shit, this is the kind of stuff that poisons society! Rove is alright, did anyone see Moby on there the other night he is a complete fucking tosser and now i don't like his music

Sesame st is awesome but they have cut down the lenth of it from 50 mins to 30 but we now have elmos world in the afternoon but i haven't really seen that yet, anything by jim henson is fucking excellent

Sopranos are excellent but much much better on dvd where they don't cut out the good bits and there are no ads in the middle to piss you off

But all i really care about is when does the new series of Six Feet Under come back on, anyone out there have any idea ?
