i long to be different,
unique and changed.
and something i never was,
something i always wanted to be.
they say you can't be something you really aren't and
i'm out to prove that wrong,
though it does me no real good.
and then she tells me to sit there and be quiet and
look cute and smile,
and then she asks me if that's too much for a boy to
handle.
she was always such a bitch.
and so i left and she screamed,
and i laughed as i walked away.
she didn't find it very funny, but that's ok, 'cause
i did.
and i know i'm different,
i'm unique and alone,
but i'm smiling, oh yes, i'm smiling.
and my dry lips crack,
'cause once the lipstick on her lips softened mine.
but no more,
'cause i'm changed.
i've been there and done that and seen it and even
felt it.
and you'll always be the same and you'll never smile.
but you'll never be alone,
oh no, you'll never be alone.
but we'll never be together.
and you'll never change or smile or be different.
and i wonder if you're happy,
truly very happy,
like a child at a carnival who rides rollercoaters
like your emotions.
are you hiding from the truths that you have created
and ran from,
never to face them again?
i long to be different,
unique and changed,
and something i am,
something i always wanted to be.
unique and changed.
