Old Footage Good Beans

I was at two of the raves on this thread - Dance '91 at Picketts Lock and Fantazia at Bournemouth. Fortunately I can't see myself on the videos and I'm not the scoutmaster.

Fantazia was epic - red hot the day after, everybody piled onto the beach.
 
Probably in a group of 1 but I quite like that chase & status tune!

Quite tempted to go along to Global this year dressed as a scout master - wonder how long it would be before I was nicked? Lol
 
There's a Bluelighter in there somewhere cause I remember this clip up before and the BL'r saying he/she was in it at some point.
Imagine showing your grandchildren that clip and saying "That's how we rolled in our day!" Ha Ha

Everybody seem to be having the time of their life, those intense love rushes are nearly palpable! Sends shivers down my spine, I remember several of those tunes. It's quite impressive how similar the dance moves, haircuts, fashion, smiles and gurns are to what I experienced in the same years in my home country :D

did you ever go to the infamous asylum? fuckn mad place. i never missed a nite in there. i rem the garda raiding the place many a time. you wud look down on the floor and it wud be littered with 100s of E and every other drug you could ever imagine! it was a brilliant club. its were the whole e thing really kicked off in dublin. but things went down hill very quick in the end and it became a very dangerous place. it was in the asylum nite club were me and me mates got strung out on brown. it was all good fun at the time. but fuck im paying with my health now. i feel older then i should! wen the asylum started off there was a real magic about the place. 4 the first time ever lads were going around hugging each other haha and gangs from all areas mixed and got on well. its a pity that it turned into such a fucked up place in the end. with countless stabbing and then the shootings that ended it all. bad buzz. great club

^Could be a different Asylum in Human Traffic.

Was at the Dublin one twice in my life. Was only a youngster checking it out really. Was back in about 93/94. Great two nights alright and that was well before it went bad. Was Sides not the first real "dance club" in Dublin?
Remember buying a speckled Dove for £25 Irish punt between 2 of us

I was only ever in The Asylum once, i have a very blurred memory of the night! But i remember been really nervous going in because of all the stories about the place, but from what i remember it was grand once i got there, i was oblivious to everything going on around me that night!!! 8(

But yeah i used to go to Sides a lot!!! It was a mad place!! I say that The Asylum & Sides were probably both around at the same time, but from what i remember Sides stayed open long after the Asylum had been closed down. I had many a good nights in Sides!! What i remember most about that place was all the red lasers!!! It was a sweat~box, but it was always kicking!! It used to stay open right into the early hours of the morning!!!

Although my main thing in the early '90's was the big out~door raves that the New Age Travelers used to run. Jaysus! did they know how to throw a party or what!!! Parties on beaches, parties in fields, i remember one big party in a derelict old mansion & the surrounding forest!! Plenty of Free mushroom tea going around!! & then we have our E's & our micro dots & our speed washed down with wine & home brew beer!!! What a concoction!! Such amazing nights!!!!! I want to go back in time & do it all again!!!!! :D

Do folk still do VicKs, I tried it when I was a lad but did not really get much out of it. Better off with a wee blast of poppers.

Hehehehe!! What a mad lot!!! Yeah Vicks was nice when used with E! It always gave me a real fresh feeling, even breathing can be fun on E's!!!

& yeah poppers were great too, a much stronger buzz though compared to Vicks! Poppers always reminds me of tip-ex thinners from back in my school days!!! 8(

Its funny when you see all the little rituals that people had when they took E's!! Every club smelled so strongly of Vicks, to this day when i smell Vicks it reminds me of raves!!! :)
