Old advertisements for drugs

Ahahahaha ohh man that Dexamyl ad is glorious.

"There's a bright side for your patients!" - I'm sure that "bright side" has nothing to do with the hot nurse with huge boobs (that he's staring right at haha). Of course "he likes to see people" - that look like her.

I wan to shake the hand of the person that made that ad.

pretty sure both are from the late 80s.

That kid on Nembutal looks like he's having a great time.
Can anyone explain how grains worked back in the day? Like on drug store cowboy he said "I'll give you 9 quarter grains of morphine sulfate"

^Haha, yeah he does, he looks fucked out of his head.

Grains are an ancient form of measurement, long used by doctors and scientists, equalling a little over 64mg. The most common use was the 5 grain aspirin (325mg).

Forgot to mention the case of cosadein 4oz bottles are all unopened. I wonder if I pour it all out would there be a market for the bottles?

^No, 9/10ths of a grain (.9) would be 58mg (64 times .9)

It was more common to either see drugs in common fractions, like 1/16 (4mg), 1/8 (8mg), or 1/4 (16mg) (ex. Dilaudid), or in multiple grains (like the 5 grain barbiturate or aspirin).
