Yeah just wondering if it helps seeing as I have quite a few at my disposal and a friend reckons they kind of tranquilize him into sleeping..?
Who knows, just wondering if it would help as it is medication for skitzophrenia and skitzophrenia mimics the effects quite closely of speed psychosis.

hello :) was wondering about this myself, say someone had a big weekend out and is having a big problem with paranoia on the comedown, is popping any benzo safe? does it help much?

Zyprexa is a strong substance, and will definately help with a meth freakout. Interestingly its a very effective anti-suicide medication, as it give a "false sense of well being". Its a medium-strong sedative and will induce sleep, often long periods of sleep. The side-effects are not unlike a benzos/alcohol, and if you take more than 10-15mg you may get a hangover.

You aren't from the same area as Ronald are you? Zyprexia is an anti-suicide agent because it gives you a buzz? Euphoria is a pretty uncommon side effect and its not even a controlled substance. Maybe it reduces suicide in people with schizophrenia, the main indication for the drug, but that's probably because it reduces their symptoms (and they normally have a 10% suicide rate). And technically it is a CNS depressant, but its NOTHING like benzos or alcohol in terms of effects (no more than Benadryl is like them). It might work for meth psychosis, but there is no telling what dose you will need to take. Benzos probably work better for this and definitely have less serious side effects than any antipsychotic medications. Dosage isn't as important with them either; just take a fat dose of a benzo and if its more than needed, you will just pass out for a while.

I second AbraMontague's comments. Re: side-effects of olanzapine, they include dry mouth, drop in blood pressure on standing, sedation, and if used regularly, weight gain is common. There is another group of side-effects called extra-pyramidal side-effects (EPSE's), which occur less commonly with olanzapine than with older drugs like haloperidol. EPSE's can still occur with olanzapine though. The only EPSE you need to worry about using olanzapine is dystonia, a form of severe, acute muscle spasm in the head, neck or trunk usually. This can cause, for example, your neck to twist to one side or your tongue to swell up. Dystonic reactions require treatment from a Dr. See olanzapine for more info.

I have no idea what the effects of this drug may be. I have never even seen its structure let alone tasted it. I have one lying in my draw that a friend gave along with a few haloperidol. I personally have no ties with the psychiatrists so I have no idea why my name appeared in this debate.

God anyone who doesnt need to take Olanzapine should not take it. I made the mistake of taking three Zyprexa's (Olanzapine). I slept for 14 hours, then woke up the next day completely zombified. I got these wierd rushes all day that felt like a fire growing behind my eyeballs, and occasionaly my eyes would just start moving by themselves, which led to several 'Are you alright?
's
Not fun, not recommended

Montague, zyprexa belongs to the thienobenzodiazepine class of drugs.
As you said:
"And technically it is a CNS depressant, but its NOTHING like benzos or alcohol in terms of effects "
No its not very recreational, and the side-effects are worse than more simple benzos, but don't make it seem more complicated than it really is.

Yep it's safe, and yep it helps. :)
How long after my last bumps should I take it though? Intuitively I can tell it wouldn't be very wise to take it while still tweaking my eyeballs out.
Also, since I'm not a psychiatrist, is paranoia a form of psychosis?
ps --> by the way, fairnymph, you are quickly becoming one of my favorite people in the world

Thanks! :)
Actually, combining benzos and stimulants is quite safe...but it's likely a benzo would dim your high a bit so I would wait until you are really coming down before popping a benzo. I usually wait until I start feeling like crap and then take my benzos and go to sleep immediately.
