An anoynomous person has had severe anxiety and was turned onto Olanzapine aka Zyprexa. She is supposed to take it at night, but often has attacks that come about during the day. She doesn't know if it is ok to take a half or so if in a state of dark depression. Thanks<3

Olanzapine won't really help with depression, but it could help your anxiety and related symptoms. You could try seperating it into two doses, twelve hours apart and see if it helps, asyou have better, and more constant blood levels. Since it is being used to treat an anxiety disorder it's acceptable..

Agreed, in fact if you have your attacks during the day you may want to take half right when you wake up and half 12 hours later. This would maintain blood levels while giving you more relief during the peak and most concurrent episodic periods. I would talk to your doc about getting on an SSRI to help with the depression. Usually anxiety and depression go hand in hand and you don't want to fight depression with a drug that can ultimately cause the same effects you are trying to combat.
