Harm Reduction Okay to use Metoprolol after smoking Cannabis?

To take care of the tachycardia. I'm also going trough some opiate withdrawals. Most Cannabis give me some anxiety, mainly about my heart racing. I have a script for Metoprolol and I'm supposed to take 50mg BID.

I am also on Librium, Pregabalin, Effexor XR 75/mg day, Zopiclone, and Metoprolol. Although I rarely take the Metoprolol on a regular basis.

This is a harm reduction question, so I am just wondering is it safe?
 
I only have 20mg of Oxycodone left from my Crash taper. So, then I'll I have then is Pregabalin, Librium, and Metoprolol, and Zopiclone for sleep. :\

BTW this is 7 years of heavy opiate abuse, with about this 4th detox now. Hydromorphone w/ds are very very nasty after intranasal use for awhile. (Worse than Oxycodone w/ds IMO). Also 7 years of heavy benzo abuse as well. Used to have a 600mg Oxycodone habit per day. (Not dicksizing sorry).
 
Harm reduction wise, I would be more concerned about taking zopiclone. It has carcinogenic effects.

Yes. I am quite knowledgable in Pharmacology from years of research, and medication names.

Anyway, yes my family doctor did as he is quite knowledgable in Addiction. He said we could add some Clonidine in there if you want as well. (But I said I didn't want to overload it with too many meds).

Also gave me OXY-IR 5mg (34 tab) to taper in 2 days and then straight cutting off the narcotics. But I still feel w/d right now because the Oxycodone doses are not high enough to take much edge off.
 
hmm now I can barely feel my heart beating at all. Is this dangerous? Using Metoprolol after smoking Cannabis to bring down tachycardia? I don't want to fuck up heart.
 
I'm pretty sure you'll be alright. It sounds like you're in a more relaxed state and have a lower heart rate...

The cannabis may help with the w/d's though it always helped me. I would smoke soon after you take the oxy. It may increase the effects of the oxycodone. It may take more of the edge off.

No, your fine.
I also get high resting pulse when smoking and i take Atenolol for it, i was prescribed it to battle the physical effects of anxiety and at the onset of weed i get little anxious and then it goes away and i can enjoy the high and not think about my heart rate constantly...
 
No interaction of concern between andergenic antagonist and cannabis. But I'd avoid taking the metoprolol with the librium, pregabalin or zopiclone. It probably won't kill you, but you might get profoundly dizzy/loss of motor control/so uninhibited you do something that has nasty consequences.

and if one doctor wrote all that..she/he must be as script happy as mine is..lol
