I was thinking... Maybe leave the description of each forum minimized by default? Takes a lot of scrolling to get my trip reports.


P.S. The word Oink reminds me of a spider. Bed looks like a bed too.
 
If you click on "Home" instead of "Bluelight" you can get to the list of forums without the descriptions.

P.S. I have no idea what your second comment means.
 
The light blue arrow to the right of a BL section's name allows you to fold up that section. The arrow to the right of the Bluelight Basics section lets you make New Member Introductions, Homeless Threads, Anonymous Posting, and Testing Grounds disappear. What I don't know is if this will persist next time I log on. If I don't do the experiment later I'm sure someone else will.
 
or you could just go directly to the forum yot want:
bluelight.ru/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=40

you can go directly to any forum like this, just change the number in "f=40" to the number of the forum you want to go to (40 is for trip reports, 111 for support, etc)
 
One more thing, if you subscribe to a forum it will appear in userCP under your subscribed forums. Enter your favorite forum. Use the pulldown menu titled 'Thread tools' click 'subscribe to this forum'.
 
theres also the pull-down menu at the bottom of the page labelled 'forum jump' (i think its on every page except the forum index page, cuz it'd be redundant there). just like the name suggests, you can use it to quickly jump to another forum anywhere on the board.
 
Do you think this thread being named 'oink' has attracted much more attention than naming it 'forum navigation' would have? Perhaps the FAQ should be untethered, renamed 'Whoosh Bang!', and periodically bumped for a week or two.
