Can't believe I considered not going! This party was fucking sick. I love Trevor, but I thought Love Between Equals had the set of the night. The energy was just intense. Definitely an old school vibe too, which I miss. Anyone who went to this party and didn't have the time of their life wasn't trying!

Happy New Years fellow BLers. I hope any of you I might've run into without knowing it had a safe drive.

When do presales start for TSL3? ;)

i still haven't ever thrown an event. I am actually just talking about it a lot but haven't gotten any real progress on what actually i want to do.

Tri State Love II

Te line was long, the music was load & all the DJ/Artists ROCKED it. A couple of my fav moments....

1) LBE - Wow this kid is a floor filer every track as electro and bangin as he last! I love to listen to Emit.

2) Seeing the gym club close to capacity by 11pm. Trip & I said we felt a small glimpse of what used to be... Great party!

3) Nauti Jason - making sure he plays only tracks that will make the masses unite through dance!

4) PEOPLE DANCING - Its been a bit of a chore over the past two ro so ears to make the majority of party goers DANCE which is what we "dj's" intend to make happen!

All in all great party! Great crowed! Thanks for the added memories!

See you on the dance floor!

even my expectations weren't as high as for what the turn out was last night. my jaw was continuously on the floor. i haven't worked a door that busy since probably wishing well, groovereactor and buckwyld parties that happened back in the door.

i worked the door from about 8 till 2 or 3. and if i wasnt working i was up there taking a break from working. and i'd say from apporximately 930 until 130, there was a line wrapped around the building.

all in all i had a great night. even if you don't like any of the music that was going on there last night, there was definitely a vibe that i haven't seen for awhile alive at the gym club last night.

nice job jason and trip!

WOW! what a party...anyone know what the head count was there last night? stood in line for about a half hr. at about 1100 and more and more people just kept getting in line. got inside and the place was packed. i thought there was going to be a good amount of people there but nothing like that. the whole night i was in schock. i hope this is the beginning of many more parties at the gym club now that promoters see that people will come out in large numbers for the gym club

p.s. big ups to the dayton police for once again being cool and not shutting the party down.

Ok so this Was Freaking awesome!!! Good Ole Gym Club! one of my faves!!! But.... it was real weird for me to see people all over each other the way they were.... I mean there was alot of dry humping..... Back in the day I didn't see as much of it so it was different!!1 But the night still rocked!!!! I know that some people took video of me from the stage so I would like to see it if you have it!!!! I was in a Black LNL girls shirt that stopped right below my boobs and a pair of pink bandanna pants .... My hair is long and blonde and I was wearing glasses... If I met you and didn't know you were on bluelight.. let me know now!!! I had a blast props on this party,,,,good way to ring in the new year!

We didn't count heads as they came in the door, but if I had to make a guess, I'd say there were probably somewhere between 700-800. We stopped taking money at the door during Riddum's set, and there were still a light stream of stragglers coming in at that point....so there could have been more, but there may have been less. I'd say at the absolute lowest there had to have been at least 600.

We had a great time doing this and the venue was really flexible and happy to work with us again. It's been a few years since we have done anything there so for us to come back was great for both sides of the table. Hopefully we can use the Gym Club more often, but not so often that we burn it out like it was from 99-03. Seemed for a while there was a party there or at the Rollerdome every weekend.

I can't speak for Jason, but I can't say I was even aware of any police presence? Usually Jason and I are the first to be notified of such an event...

To say the turnout was unexpected is to put it mildly. I literally watched the floor fill during my set between 10 and 11pm. It went from quasi-full to packed in less than an hour, just in time for Emmit (Love Between Equals) to take the night to the next level. Thanks to the level of attendance and support, we were able to make a very generous donation towards the Fariello family to help with their growing medical expenses for Roman. Thanks to everyone who came out to support ITG, Roman Fariello, the locals and regionals of the tri-state, and the scene in general. The night was PHENOMENAL for us, we can only hope it was the same for everyone else as well. I think the biggest hiccup we had was running out of water.....but againb, we simply were just not expecting THAT many of you to come out of the woodwork!

So many people I'd love to say thanks to, but the list is too long to even begin....so I will just say THANK YOU to EVERYONE who was involved in the production and THANK YOU to EVERYONE who came out to spend their NYE with us. We look forward to seeing you all again soon!

the more and more i look at this lineup, the more i realize how much the promoters are genuinely ripping off the potential attendees.

Jay-P Gold said:
problems w/ said vote:

a. No actual vote counts were released to substantiate the lineup

b. Promoters/Agents (including myself) couldn't vote which rules out the most active people in the scene beyond DJs leaving behind a bunch of kids that are going to essentially for their dj buddy friend and not for ppl that actually have talent.

Jay-P Gold said:
Seriously, how many of the DJs on this lineup actually getting paid something more than gas money?

in the past 2 weeks, i have brought out dieselboy and tech itch.

in about 2 weeks, i will be hosting infiltrata and annalyze

and in a bout a month and a half will be dara and atlantic connection.

when was your last event?

You know, I may be reading this completely wrong, but based on your previous posts on this thread, I sense an unrelenting self-righteous condescending attitude coming from your general direction in just about everything you say. If you want to sit here and go tit-for-tat on national and international acts (from more than just the drum and bass side of the spectrum) that I/we have booked since the late 90's, we could and can if you really Really REALLY want to....but it would be moot in the end. You will still sit there and be a pretentious little name-dropping prick and people will still come to our events (and yours as well...which by the way we have had NOTHING bad to say about), regardless of whether you think we are "ripping them off" or not. People who know us and our parties know our level of integrity. We may not do things the way you or other people think we should, but we have learned from our mistakes over the years and we do what works best for us and our parties....and guess what....WE ARE STILL HERE.

You had no hand in our party. You had no intentions of coming, offered no help to make it any better by yours or anyone else's standards, yet found it incredibly easy to sit there and talk all this shit over a message board. And we never asked you for anything, either...so take your opinionated mouth and shove it with something phallic rather than the usual fecal matter that seems to keep flowing out of it...it'd be a nice change for once.

In the end, the party-goers decide what events are worth their time and money. This time, along with countless other parties we have thrown, the kids entrusted us to give them a NYE to remember with quality talent (local or not....everyone on this lineup was quality) and that is what we delivered. So stick to your shit, and we'll stick to ours, and unless you are going to get involved, get on the phone, or come out and talk constructively with us.....STFU already. Your rants and general bitterness is tired and lame.

Despite EVERYTHING you had to say about us and our event, the kids still came, the TALENT we had still rocked it to a phenomenal sound system and light show, everyone was paid to what was agreed upon (which was NONE of your business in the first place) AND we were able to do something positive with a large portion of our proceeds.

my bad i didnt mean there was a cop presence at the party...i meant as usual the cops didnt even care there was a party going on at the gym club and didnt even show up. the gym club is the most secure venue ever. thanks INT for one of the best parties ive been to in a long time.

Just so you know, Jay-P Gold - - i just wasn't gonna be wastin my time going over my credentials. I'm not here to see whose dick is bigger. If you are interested in my past events you could check out http://indtribe.FUNKenterprises.com - - - - If you can navigate through the site you will find about twenty FREE downloads of mixes---- maybe you are a big enough man or 'raver' - as you so delicately put it - to see you may have been just a wee bit too quick to judge people – remember this one : (Matthew 7:1-2) “Do not judge, or you two will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

I guess I feel it speaks volumes when a promoter doesn't have to say how GREAT they are -- rather that everyone else says it for them. Such being the case with 'in-the-groove' productions. They threw a great event --- WAY TO GO!!!! And any of you Ohio attendees -- If you are gonna be in Indianapolis -- give me a heads up and maybe we can hang ---- what a blast!! Let Serendipity and I know if there is anything we can do in the future!!!

i <3 how defensive you lil turds get.

dont get mad at me for calling it as i see it.

your party was a fucking ripoff for anyone that was really into music and hoping for something more than a social gathering on NYE.

i had already said that there were a few ppl on your lineup that were worth seeing, but they were personal friends that can be caught at any time.

the only exceptional quality about this event was the venue factor, and to someone like me, that doesnt really mean shit.

anyway, keep on crying about my oh so evil shit talking.

... ill be here booking talent that actually seems to matter, and you can keep throwing raves masqueraded as a fundraiser for some kid w/ cancer.

don't get mad at me for not falling for your scam. i actually care about being exposed to new music, not hugging some sweaty lil girl who's pupils are so big they can accommodate a baby's arm.

say whatever you want about my events.

go right ahead! others have tried in the past.

i bring more talent (albeit DnB) to this region than most likely anyone else, and i attempt to do it for cheaper than anyone else.

ps. i <3 how you called me self-righteous. that was a fallacious statement seeing as how typically i live up to my own high standards.

ah, mr. gold.. how much you have to learn. aside from professionalism.

since you know 'how much it costs to throw a rave' .. then i'm sure you'd be able to come up with a fair estimate of the costs this incurred and as a result what the break even point was.

also factor in the market.. and i think you'll find that this was reasonably priced.

i am not associated with ITG, but do have direct knowledge of how much just about everything for this event costs.. i have my number.. my number says that the cost was more than fair. unless you expected them to throw a party where they were more confident that they would LOSE money.

but then again.. you seem to know everything.. including how to draw what? a whole 20 people (over half of which are regulars) to see talent the caliber of tech itch.

since you're so big on credentials.. i won't drop names, but i can tell you - i haven't thrown a party for 5 years and i can still smoke you. ask trip. ;)

funny.

just approximating things, seeing as that i have direct knowledge (i am not associated with ITG) of the costs for the majority of the facets of this party.. you're somewhere, roughly, in the 400-500 person range to break even.

when's the last time an event in southwestern ohio drew that many people? how much did that event cost at the door?

exactly.

but then again.. you seem to know everything.. including how to draw what? a whole 20 people (over half of which are regulars) to see talent the caliber of tech itch.

funny.
yea, considering we chose not to promote tech itch.

because we had over 200 the previous wednesday for DSL.

but yea, i know how much a rave costs.

the largest single expense for the night was most likely the venue, followed by sound.

god i wish i had my old acct back
