OH, Columbus - 06.11.05 Saturday - Roc Raid, Monk *REVIEW*

Heat wave in Columbus...

Had a great time last night. The laser and lighting show was fantastic. You guys did a great job with that. The talent was fuckin bumpin all night long. My only complaint......since the building isnt air conditioned, be sure to use some industrial fans next time. The heat was outta control. Other than that this party kicked ass...can't wait for the next.
 
hey now!!!!! We got there around 930, and were welcomed inot the venue with a huge sign that read "NO CANDY, NO GUM, NO BAGS". Ouch that stung a bit. I guess everyone was going to have some funkified breath, huh. You could of course buy candy inside.

Got in the venue, and was welcomed with a barrage of hardcore, gabber, and hard trance. It was like going from 0 to 1000 in a footstep. For me it was very hard to get the night off right with the hardest of the hard spinning this early.

Walked around a bit and finally, FINALLY, the house music began @ 1200. Scott Henry tore it up!!!!! Dropping in the Audio Bullys song was the shit!!!!

Roc Raida was next, and I was not too impressed with him. He started off strong but then just cut in and out of songs without mixing them at all. Maybe hip hip djs are different than electronica djs.

Monk was up next, and he indeed spun everything under the sun. DnB to Trance to even the doors. I was not all too inpressed with his special light show however.

Tititon torw things up. His jazzy tech form was indeed at a 10.

Endo was good as well, ending the night with some DnB.

All in all, the main room was where I stayed because I felt the best music was being played in there.

SSOOOOO HHHHOOOTTT!!! That fan was a godsend to anyone who stood in front of it.

Main room: Too bright!!!
Little room: Too Hot!!!
2nd room: Basically I thought if you didnt have a glowstick, you were not allowed entry.

Good time, good vibe, not great. Saw plenty of female eye candy. Extra porta john with disinfectant lotion was the shit.

Set of the night for me no question---Dj Shinma---daaamn homie!holy fukin shit!!! heard much of it from right outside the 3rd room door and sounded great but standin up by the dex it was jus fukin energy!!!on point undagroun raw muthafuhkin energy. def. great set john. respect.

all in all i had just as much fun as i expected! =D... 2x what blitzen was...

i was really surprised at how much i liked scott henrys set, it was pretty fly. although monk on the other hand was somewhat disappointing ... the upside, i did hear a lot of good dnb, sinisters set was a lot of fun! mostly good vibes all around, my only complaint would be the *extreme* heat - being 100% sober and that hot wore me out much sooner than i had expected.

thanks to everyone involved for puttin in the time and effort for all of us to rock our socks and have a kick ass time - it IS noticed and appreciated!! - you guys are awesome, mad <3 <3 !!
 
i remember meeting you wayyy back, ironically i think i have a few pics of you lol. I have about 600 pics documenting the 3-4 years i was a night crawler.

wow... ok you know what? that was dope... i had not been 2 a warehouse since 2001... and to tell the truth i expected more... but why bitch about a couple little things when Monk's set alone was worth every cent I paid. I have been waiting years to see that man and he was a fucking monster behind the decks... 8o <---- that was the look on my face from start to finish during his set... and i loved all the Hardcore, Hardhouse, fuckin jus bangin ass shit i heard all night long... Thanks for the homecoming guys...

Loon, we all got to the bar round 7:15, but by 8:15 i had drank my money up... and my friends wanted to get to the show, so sorry i missed all you guys...

no hip hop dj's are suppose to mix records... they do it on the radio everyday... but yeah he's a turntablist... but for some reason he didn't do to much scratch/beat jugglin/turntablist type of stuff ... jus little bits and pieces here and there.... but what little there was.. it was still sick...

lol... yeah that whole fuckin room was a cuddle puddle... 8) they coulda been much more entertained by Monk's set and sick ass video show... those kids missed out...
 
Another awesome party in C-bus!!! thanks to GSP, Dusktilldawn, and everyone else involved. I got really hyped up for this one, and it was everything I expected and more! thanks for the hook up on the hotel, met a bunch of partiers there before and after the party, hopefully there were no complaints and we can do it again next time. the music was bangin all night long, shout outs to sinister and tom sawyer, awesome sets. the headliners were good, nothing exceptional, but had me dancin none-stop regardless. even got to hear some speed garage towards the end. whats up to those I met from BL. the after party was pretty sweet but once again crowded and hot, but well worth it. at least it wasn't snowing this time! i give the overall trip a 9 out of 10. keep us posted on the next big event in c-bus. blitzen? or sooner? hope to see ever1 in chicago for relapse!
 
The event was insane very nice but just like everyone else the heat was unreal which there really isn't much that could have been done despite renting about 10 of the indsutrial fans instead of the couple that was there but that would have just gotten insane in pricing mother nature just played the bitch part and decided to be extremely hot and humid, which sucked cause i really wanted to stay longer but just from the dancing i did which was about half of the norm i was worn out cause of the heat but ya like i said not much could be done in those regards so all in all great fucking event and Roc Raida tore it up on the selections of tracks he threw down...

loved seeing everyone while i was out hopefully i will get to when the next one happens when it gets a little bit cooler ;)

Had a good time...bout as good of a time you can have when you are one of the handfull of sober people there. It was very packed and VERY HOT! But I think everyone knows that. Wasn't too impressed with the music overall...Monk was good but I has expected a little more.

1st had a good time...Roc Raida was doin it....for the people who wasnt impressed with his set....turntable trickery for a solid hour...seriously thank about what your asking....plus with the heat im sure his records was sweating.... Second, DJ MONK.....GOTTA SPREAD THA BABYBATTER ON THAT SET! for you who dont know me, thats a compliament! Third, Titonton......Everytime......and I mean everytime....Steals the show......He rocked out with his cock out.....spreading babybatter on those who was there to party...i enjoy when i can watch dj hang out, before and after there sets....perform and ya know they are having a Great time giving tha crowd a performance...thats what i miss cause you dont see that often.....SO TITONTON I TIP MY HAT TO YOU SIR!
