OH, Columbus - 06.11.05 Saturday - Roc Raid, Monk *REVIEW*

as i said earlier... cats can bust their asses throwing events, but it doesnt matter unless ppl come. ill be there because ive been to all the gsp parties and they are quality but let ppl speak.
 
again feedback is more than welcome.....we cant please everyone

give roc raida a 2nd chance if you didnt like him before hand....lol......i gaurantee he will make them decks sing.....specally for the bonus i gave him


and your opinion is duly noted and respect on monk.....the smash up style is growing but hard to dig at times.....its the talent behind it really......its not easy to spin every genre under the sun in one set.....plus you have to consider monk was the musical genuis behind ritm.....he did all their music....and now that hes no long apart of them...they still rock but arent pushing the numbers they used to........i think that should speak for itself



keep in mind though monk and ritm are not at odds with one another....monk just wanted to work on some other projects

besides if you dont like a few djs thats why there are over 30......hopefully theres a sound or dj out of them all you dig
 
I have seen both Monk by himself and RITM together. I do like the stage show that they put on, mainly because it is always so outrageous and creative. Although, when I saw Monk play @ Se7ven @ the Eagles nest a few years ago, he absolutely killed it. He did play every genre and played it well. He is very talented and can do many tricks as well. My highlight of the night would be Scott Henry. I saw him wreck shop up at a small undergroud party in NYC in November and then again for NYE @ Nation in DC. He plays some of the most energetic, funky tribal house that I have ever heard, can't wait.
 
oh i'll prolly still be there...i'm not trying to put any dj or person down...just was saying how i felt about the stuff i did hear. i'm sure it'll be better now and live.
 
Looks like Curtis and I will plan to be there. Can you recommend hotels in the area of the venue please.
 
hey dj layha i believe there are two hotels right off the highway, very very close (2 blocks or so) from the venue area; days inn or comfort inn possibly?
 
i'm sure this venue is in the warehouse district..just like the past 4 parties in columbus.
 
^ yes indeed....i think we are snagging up the last rooms we needed this weekend so we can post all hotel info for everyone else.......but in both directions theres are a few hotels....around the 65 to 85 range after taxes and what not...but im sure there are cheaper ones just outside of these


and loone....no doubt b.....its noted....but lol i know you will be saying the opposite after this....


sorry about the flyers in indi...i know personally i was supposed to be at that anyalize show to pass some out...but alas i own part of club oxygen now in cincy and that is taking some of my time. I thought we still sent about 3k out that way though.....perhaps we didnt yet...i will check up on that......i do apologise
 
yeah there is also a Hilton hotel real close to the venue, its nice as hell, and the room is nice for the $$ ... if ya havea little extra to spend, i would recomend hitting it up and making reservations soon, because i personally know that every hotel in a 10 mile radius is going to be booked up with everyone we have comming from out of town for this... just a heads up, get hotels early :)
