STOP TALKIN SMACK!

WHATS UP ALL YOU HATERS! B4 You start talking all your smack about the DJ Comp, let me clearify to all you "HEADS" That all I did is organize this event. I was there 1 night out of all 7 weeks. There was 5 promoters including 2 that are in the finals, but I don't see anyone talking about that.

Anyway I just wanted to let everyone know that Im going on at 11:15 this Friday and you should watch me compete instead of talking about scandal just because of what you read or hear. So if you did'nt see me compete the week I won my prelim then you should have nothin to say.

By the way, I know for a fact people are talking smack, but at least I have people that were at the comp or in the comp to back me up. Thanks to everyone that has been there for me, and good luck to all the finalist.

If you have a responce about this or anything or anyone else in this comp atleast have the balls to put your name up.

^^^ word up to Sam. Sam has been nothing but awesome to me and my friends. He's a great promoter who is just trying to do something positive here. He also happens to be an awesome DJ, which is why he won his round. All this talk of scandel is rediculous. I'm lookin foward to competeing this friday. Hope to see some folks there.

wtf?

a comment was made the original battle page about how fake columbus is. nothing was said about the contest or any of the djs in the contest.
ps bluelight is a board. don't take it so personally.

you guys think cause a guy reads comics he can't start some shit?-Brodie Bruce

Component... I think Sam was just referring to the original post
http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=118963&perpage=25&pagenumber=8

were there was some slight mention of the battle being rigged... Some of the comments were edited, but I thought I remember somone saying that the Breaks Battle was rigged, and that this one may be as well... But since it was edited, I can't really remember what was said.
I'm sure Sam is just tired of hearing from people that this contest is rigged just because some of the same people seem to make it to the finals every year and because since he promoted it, AND made it to the finals, he must have it rigged up. I've seen it on other boards as well.
BAH!
Who cares, I just want to have fun and hear some very talented DJ's!

respek lemon lyman

jason,
i agree with what you're saying, and have nothing bad to say about anybody. i think all the djs in the finals are there for a reason. i was just commenting on the fakeness of columbus. the city. that's it. i wasnt trying to piss anyone off but i know that people tend to take shit on here personally. good luck to everyone in the finals.

What the hell R U talking about? I could care less about if you or anyone else was refering to me or any other promoter being fake. Just to clarify what I was talking about for the record, I was talking about things that were brought to my attention last night at NYOH's. My friend Matt was there and people were talking about the Finals and how it would be a scandel if I ended up the winner. These were also people that were not even at the Competition the night I won. THAT IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.

I understand that bluelight is a board, thats why I decided to post this and everything else. I have nothing but respect for every DJ in Columbus including you Seth except for 1 DJ. But that is more about him as a person and not a DJ.

I want to win this competition just as much as everyone else, so if your in the finals may the best DJ win! Not Promoter or Organizer... DJ.

Just to let everyone know all the DJ's have an unlimited guest list as far as I understand, but I would check with Mike first. And there will be Free drinks from 10-11 complements of Nightbreed Productions.

You tell em Samarai. Doesn't matter, let the best DJ win. I have been missin some ohio talent, and I am glad that I am coming in from chi-town to see the finals. Good luck to all of the competitors and I am looking forward to dancin the night away.
With respect to everyone on the roster for this night,
Martin

P.S. I am missing my boy's DEMF afterparty for this, so make it good all.

let's play nice together

I suppose I inadvertently helped open this can of worms, so here's my attempt at fixing it. Sam, here is exactly what I posted. I don't think this is disrespectful or out-of-line in any sense. Only my opinion. Also, it was written with the purest of intentions...

OK...Jason is very skilled, not to mention a seasoned veteran. And I intend no disrespect towards him or anyone else here. That said...

Let's give the underdogs a chance for once. I mean, when I got that flyer with the listings for when each dj was playing week-to-week, I could pretty much tell you who (politically) deserved to win each week. And if you've been around for a little bit, you could've too. I mean, they genuinely deserve to win; they've put in mad blood, sweat, and tears for years. But I remember in high school, when "seniority" was the mainstay, certain individuals were given leeway simply because they were household, or in our case "seasoned industry types"; and the freshmen/sophomores, who may have been better, were swept aside and labeled young and inexperienced. Well, I can't speak for all of you out there in BL world, but for me high school outlook / fashion show ethics / popularity contest behaviour has far passed. So, if you're going to have a "DJ Battle", should'nt we let the djs actually battle before unsaid premonition plays a part on our collective psyche, creating bias and unjust favoritism? I dunno, maybe I'm just old fashioned or something, but these things should be handled in the purest way possible, or the integrity of the competition is compromised. No disrespect to the judges either, however I do believe it would've been more fair to the contestants if out-of-state judges were brought in. BTW these are my 2 cents. Feel free to add to the piggybank, but please don't berate me for my feelings.

Lots of luck to all contestants, big & small.

Jere

Although last year was good, Mike and I want this year to be better. Better and more fair for the DJs in the competition.

So guys, c'mon...stop the insanity. Let's have a good time tomorrow night. I dunno about any of you all, but I've put way too much into this to have pity-anty shit get in the way now. I say good luck to all, big & small; and see you in the international room...

One last "Good Luck" too all of the contestants tonight. I have a feeling that the house will be packed, and the drinks will be flowing.
May the best man, or woman, win tonight. I'm sure everyone is bringing there A game. everyone who is here TRULEY deserves it, no matter what anyone else might say. It will be an honor to play with all of you tonight.

Tonight is a great night for the Columbus Dance Music scene. Many styles coming together under one roof, and the people who support those different styles getting a chance to kick it with each other.

Awesome!!!!

Jason

Well said Lemon. I am excited to compete against all the great DJ's tonight. I have had the pleashue of playing with you and watching some of you showcasing tonight grow into your music. To all of you good luck, have fun, and rock that shit like never before from the 1st to the last DJ we all deserve to be there and lets show everyone why. We have all paid our dues and stuck it out through good times & bad here in Columbus dance music scene. Some longer than others but what it all boils down to is the music. Tonight was very good.....Congrats to Rob Rage. You fuck't the techno up.

And DAMN...Conrats on 2nd Mr. Jason Allen. You rocked the shit out of the place. Good for you....you are no longer a Rookie....I think you are gonna go far buddy.

Everyone did great. Although Ororo did not place....I must give you mad props.

Peace

Congratulations Rob, you deserved it. And congrats to Jason and Sam for takin 2nd and 3rd. It was an honor to spin along side everybody tonight. I'll be ready for next year......

I cant wait for next year

Congratulations to Rob Rage & Jason Allen. I wish I could have been there to see you guys play. I herd you guys rocked it and Jason had the crowd chanting his name. unfoutunatly I had to work at carlile Club so I wasn't able to stay. Its hard going 1st but I'm very happy with getting 3rd. That was definitely one of the best sets i've ever played. Regardless the only person that got screwed was the defending Champion DJ Tommy D. I know Tommy and I talked to him about the situation and his hands were tied. I'm sure if he was able to play in the finals things may have been different but we will never know. But regardless of his circumstances, that will never take anything away from Rob & Jason. Congratulations.

Thanks to everyone for making this the most talked about event in Columbus!

Sorry about miss spelled words... I'm drunk
