Everyone enjoyed ganging up in this conversation, yet no one answered my question about dogsonacid.com.

They released MAD stuff, even dubplates, you can listen to the WHOLE track.. why would they do that if people are stealing tracks left and right out there?

just a thought.
its personal choice of the artists and labels as to what gets posted on DOA and the access to the content.

some ppl care.

some ppl dont.

using a DOA example, macus intalex's fit about ppl using his tracks in internet mixes.

thats not my logic dipshit. Downloading music isnt comparable to human incapasitation

no, but if you break it down to what it really is, it's comparable.

everyone who owns music they didnt pay for, should delete it. is that your logic? your psycho bable has me confused...

Did he say that?

Everything that he's said has made sense. You, on the other hand, are just being flat out dumb.

You could have easily answered your own questions based on what everyone has said. Instead, you'd rather people waste your time and nit-pick about people not answering the part of your question pertaining to DOA.

Now, surely, you could have formulated a conclusion of your own based on what Lisa, Geek, and what everyone else has said to answer that question for yourself.

Or, I'm giving you way more credit than you deserve.

When it all gets broken down it's definately not comparable lol! We're talking humans vs music?! At least i though we were...

...and if you would had read everything, i said i am wasting time on a message board, but in all honestly i didnt know everything that has been noted.

I am not a producer nor dj, so i cant speak on behalf of that side of the subject, all im saying is i enjoy collecting sets to listen to them for my personal entertainment.

whenever the occasion comes up, we always love gettin' down on 4 decks.

I vaguely remember meeting you at mattie and amandas going away party back around fall in the cinci loft (good drinks). But you need to get on the decks again yo! In my presense that is.. haha

your initial logic was, "if i can do it, then i should be allowed to do it."

to make a point, i chose a more controversial analogous topic. just like you can physically rip streaming content, i can probably exert physical control over another human being.

should either of us take those actions?

no.

lets try another example thats a little less esoteric....

just bc i can steal CDs @ a record store, should i?

you're retarded.

you misunderstood my logic; obviously.

Humans vs music... no, I cant compare those.

I'm not trying to win a debate here buck-o.

and actually, we are comparing morally questionable acts that are actually possible but should not be done. not the items upon which the acts are being committed.

*in the back of my head i can hear prof. karlson ranting on and on about "can i kill the puppies?" in reference to Lawrence v. Texas*

omg man, you are out there.... asking for the releasing of a set that has low potential of being cut up and ripped is not a moral question. damn lol.

your kind of funny, email me, lets chat more.

Its illegal to pirate and distribute. who can tell the difference of putting my cd collection on my computer to archive vs downloading all the same cds?

Then say that next time instead of getting your panties in a bundle about a set not being posted.

I do the same thing as Lisa, as far as my sets are concerned. If they sound like ass, then they don't post them. If they sound okay, then I post them.

Thing is though, we're all lucky to even have sets recorded for our audible pleasure. I mean, like Lisa said, people could just say, "Well ya had to be there" and it's true, but as we all know, not all of us can be where we'd like to be to hear a good set.

The fact of the matter is, some people do take the time to rip up sets and gank tracks. I happens. It's never going to stop happening, but we all need to respect that if someone doesn't want their set posted, there's probably a legitimate reason for it not being posted.

when archiving CDs on to your computer, you are legally supposed to retain the physical cd and case upon which you were granted the license to listen to the content of the CD.

each piece of music in your collection that is missing the physical media or the digital license from an online music store is technically a copyright violation.

when discussing the recordings of live sets, the same is true. unless you have a license to own and use the content, it is technically against the law. some groups like the Dead advocated set archiving, but it was still illegal.

is someone likely to come after you?

probably not.

especially in EDM.

I honestly wasnt at all, just playing around. People got all huffy and puffy so i continued on to see why.

Geek, if your the download police, im guilty. sorry. I will continue to collect sets of my favorite djs for personal listening pleasure. I highly doubt you, yourself, own every single track on your computer or have a license to own the sets you "potentially" have.

im not the download police. i am very much the opposite.

im just giving you the legal point of view on everything and why the set was immediately posted for you to download.

im just being real w/ ya homie.

He's not the download police. It's just what he went to school for.
Sweet shit! how do you get into the download police program at school?

Thats not what I wanted nor asked for, my point is im not the only one in this thread that has "illegal" music on my computer, yet you all seem to make me look that way.

The End.
