jesus fuck.... really? all the hype around dying bees and you seriously can only equate 'bees' with fuckin' HIVE???

gawd... no wonder all the new great minds are coming from everywhere but the US.

the dying bees.

careful, there are some big words in the article and none of them 'djs' 'techno' or 'jungle'.

whoa that is some fucked up shit about the bees...

yeah I read that like 70% are gone. I think Einstein was quoted saying something to the effect of after the bees are gone we can live 4 yrs, kinda weird

^ it's debatable that it was Einstein, but the legend points it to him.

apparently, the bee concern has been around for awhile and he was close friends with an ecologist, so it may simply be someone putting it in his mouth to validate the claim. more than likely, tho, he didn't say it; someone in his immediate circle of friends did.

Not to detract from the possible economic consequences... or the impact on environment.... or the original reason for this thread...

but there are other means of pollenation and synthetic honey...

also, ccd is not a new thing as was stated... so maybe they will come back...

the linked article does not state the economy of scale... how many more bees are there now than ever... relied upon for honey and pollenation? how does the higher bee population in captivity reflect upon the colony collapse stats? and who dooked in the hive?

and that news story was so last month... is it really a surprise though that wierd environmental shit is happening?

Things will get more expensive and the environmental loss will be immense, but it will take more than 4 years to wipe out human existance from CCD alone...

not an environmentalist myself. not really worried about the those bees, leave it to the biologists...

so back to the topic...

...........YaY fAt RaV3!!!

and something about chocolate...

and some eRussian shit...

and smoke bombs indoors really suck...

one of these may come in handy for the actual intended purpose:

The Einstein quote is total bullshit. He never said it. Doesn't mean that losing the bees wouldn't fuck us up royally.

i'd like to see your empirical evidence on the matter, please.

well...my family's business relies upon bees pollenating the apple trees. without them collecting pollen from the apple blossoms there would be an extreme difference in crop yield (upwards of a 70% difference)...

personally, i think its awesome that my father relies on bees to make the trees produce apples...it's a very dynamic releationship with nature all the way around and above all else a dying art form. ballin' on fruit, yo%)

so, shameless plug here while i'm at it;)

we lost 90% or more of our apple crop this year due to the chilly spring...so, if any of you degenerates appreciate farm fresh produce roll thru Adrian's this summer. we usually open up the monday after the 4th of july. since there isn't a significant apple crop my father is focusing on veggies which include sweet corn, peppers, zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes (all shapes and sizes) and lord knows what else...the man grows all kinds of cool shit. and there will be frozen cider, too :)

ok...back to your regularly scheduled BlueFight rave discussion...

if you use Mozilla, it actually spell checks for you. i've taken the liberty of correcting them for you.

this is not true, not with the vast majority of food.

who said it was 'new'....?

who wants to live off of 'maybe'? maybe it will; maybe it won't. maybe bart Peterson will invest in one of Nate's raves... maybe he won't. maybe maybe maybe. life, being a series of probabilities, is nothing but a 'maybe'.

those are all very good questions. go forth and research.

i provided a link for one to read and maybe spark enough interest to for them to go on their own... it's cool that it took you three days and some google-searches to look up the questions that other articles have put forth... now, dig a'little deeper and find the articles that shed light on those questions -- because they are very valid, have been asked, have already been addressed, and have already been (in turn) questioned again.

isn't self-education wonderful?

and that news story was so last month...

then let me be the first to welcome you to last month.

of course one wonders why you'd even mention this news' expiration date, especially since you acted like you hadn't heard it? likewise, those issues you raised were equally 'last month'... why haven't you read those since you're so 'with the now' (as we are to assume by your paris hilton-like chastisement of the issue) with regard to worthy ecological concerns....

no.

it'll take 4 years and 2 months.

maybe if you're lucky, you'll get an extra rave out of Nate in those 2 months.

but it's fun to say

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE BEES!!

it's quick
and it rhymes
has a definite iambic-like quality about its meter.

not when being attacked by KILLER BEES!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!

ps. i'm assuming 'dooked' meant 'dookied' ....

http://www.snopes.com/quotes/einstein/bees.asp for starters. Try typing Einstein Bees Make into Google, and you'll see a lot of people disproving(or not finding evidence to back up) the quote. I think the bees going bye-bye are a problem too, but there is not one published account of Albert ever saying that. Could you present YOUR empirical(someone went to Yale) evidence that he ever said it?

no, but if you fuckin' read correctly, you'll see that i said (twice, mind you) that i don't think that he said it. however, if you're gonna say "he didn't say it" as if it is some absolute fact of the matter, then you better have something solid to back it up.

and pointing to a website that admits that it doesn't have empirical evidence to the contrary is NOT -- contrary to what you may try and pass off -- empirical evidence to the contrary.

but thanks for trying.

PS. in fact, the closest thing you get to a definitive, since you want to Google your way to an answer, is Einstein biographer Walter Isaacson who said:

"Einstein may have said something about bees, but I don't know about it if he did."

far from proof one way or the other.

i'm sure Einstein took at least one shit without Walter smelling it..

Amazing how worked up you get over one stupid (non)quote of Albert Einstein. Priorities man, priorities. The bees need your help.

even edited, your ad hominem is a weak and typical -- if not-unexpected -- response, as is the assumption that tearing apart whatever you were trying to build up took time or effort.
