⫸STICKY⫷ Official "I CANT POST" Megathread....with Mega-answers

Hi, just signed up for bluelight after being a long time lurker and was looking to actually post today. I originally signed up using my email on aim and found out when I logged in that AOL had deleted all my mail and all I had was a goddamn "welcome" email. I am tight. I tried to send another activation but it won't go to my inbox. Help would be appreciated

It appears at though you have activated your account. How did you resolve the problem?
 
It keeps telling me that an email has been sent to me but it hasn't. It's been 24 hours and still no email. I can't post in the Forums.
 
Have tried 3 times today to receive my activation email/code. Do I also have a problem joining?
Spam folder empty - no emails received today ([email protected]) - Please advise.

Please advise what else I should do to recieve my activation code. I have now tried 6+ times by clicking "REQUEST ACTIVATION EMAIL" - so far without success :?
Btw, I note that 'Posting Permissions' have changed to "you may post."

Your account has been activated so did you find the email in your spam folder or something? Also there is a link for having the activation email resent in the first post in this thread.
 
I've tried twice to get the activation email. First one I waited 30 minutes (still waiting of course), and the 2nd try about ten. Am I not waiting long enough? Most sites you get in under a minute... thx

Have you checked your spam folder to see if the email was in there?

Tried several times to verify my account. Every time site just sends me like to reset password. Made account like 1 minute before site went down for maintenance, no idea what happened.
 
I cant start a thread because it says "needs thread prefix". I feel stupid, but what does that mean? I can respond to threads fine
 
If you're posting in Other Drugs, it simply means that you need to select one of the prefix (there should be a dropdown menu above the bar where you enter the thread title) in order to create the thread. Just choose the prefix that best describes the topic of what you're posting about. If you don't know which prefix to use, simply select "misc" and a moderator will change it if they feel another one is better. Has this issue happened in forums other than Other Drugs?
 
No, and im on mobile phone n dont see drop down menu. Ill switch to "full site" view, then it should come up. Thanks
 
Yes. On full site view it's right there lol. I swear I'm not a moron, on mobile view there is no prefix box. That's why I was confused. But on full site view it makes perfect sense. Thanks. I was lost for a moment
