Why can't I feel the effects of my Perc after being off of Suboxone for nine days. I've been on Suboxone for about five months at 4mg-6mg daily.

Because your tolerance is extremely high right now, you answered this question yourself. You took a decent dose of an extremely potent opioid for 5 months straight, your tolerance won't go down unless you stop taking opioids completely for like, months.

yeah sorry bro but dupe complete fucks your tolerance...ive been off it for 3 months now and haven't experimented with anything but imagine i still wouldnt be able to get any sort of feeling of a perc...even 3 or 4...hey it could be worse...u could have fallen onto the methadone train...im convinced methadone is the devil lol...that shit will fuck your tolerance beyond belief and fuck up your dopamine levels...

Hey thanks for the replies fellas that's what I was afraid it might be. I started taking Subs when my tolerance to percs went up really high. It got to a point where I just wouldn't feel them any more so I went to the Sub. My Doctor gave me a months supply, (90) films. After about 45 days I ran out of my first supply and did not take anything for two days. On the third or fourth day I took some perc and felt it really well so my tolerance must have went down during my first months supply of Sub. A few weeks after that I went back on Sub for another 45 days or so. The day after I ran out of this supply I started taking the perc again and it did not work at all for six days in a row and then I went back on the Sub. What I'm getting at is that when I first went on the Sub my tolerance to the perc was really high but after the Sub it was way way down.

I've read lots of different things on the subject. Most people say you need to wait 24-72 hours after your last dose of Sub. But I've seen a few people say that it can take up to a week or two. I've read on the Sub website that it's 11 days and I called them and they told me the same.

I been on SUBUTEX for 6 years plus (went through the 1 tab' - two to three times daily) for 7 or 8 months finally figured out more than 2-4 mg's is only for extreme w/d's The oxycodone I use for pain works as well now as it did after I built up a tolerance to it...

edit: I believe buprenorphine is useful @ 16 mg's a day for some types of w/d, but only for around 72 hours at most, cut down to 8 for a week or 2 and so on...(this is for painful w/d's)

My doctor did not tell me the Suboxone would built up my tolerance and I did not think it would because after a month on it my tolerance to the percocet went way down.

listen to tricomb. its very, very strong. you can't expect to be on an opiate like that for months at a time and then feel a percocet. you need to give it time. almost as long as you were on the suboxone.

The Doc did tell me that Sub is 100% stronger than Oxy but he mentioned nothing about tolerance. I did read that it will skyrocket your tolerance and I also read that my tolerance will drop drastically after being on it for a while.

I think the reason I was able feel the effects of the perc three days after my first months supply of Sub is because it was not enough to raise my tolerance. But then again, before I did the Sub my tolerance was already through the roof.

I think i'll try not taking anything for a while =/

Thanks for all the replies fellas

just as a thought, maybe the doctor wasnt too concerned with what your future opiate tolerance would be like?
You would just have to assume that a drug " 100% stronger than oxy" would increase your tolerance.

Raising his tolerance aside, he may STILL HAVE SOME SUBOXONE LEFT IN HIM!

6 months of 4-6mg a day? Do the half lives man...if youre someone who bupe takes longer to eliminate from as well, its really an AVERAGE 36 hour half life, meaning your shoving X more mg into your body before even half of the first dose is gone. meaning you could have even MORE than you'd imagine (or know using a 24 hour half life).

Example: you add 4mg to 2.5mg, you get 6.5mg, cut that in half you get 3.25, but! If you haven't even made it to the hl yet (36 hours lets say for you), you really are at like 4mg when you redose ANOTHER 4mg, meaning now youre at 8, and once again you DONT make it to the HL, meaning its 4-5mg when you redose with 4, giving you effectively 9mg suboxone in you, and again and again....get the idea? you could have a HIGHER BLOOD LEVEL OF SUBOXONE THAN YOUR DAILY DOSE!

Obviously this was a very very rudimentary example, not taking into account BOA, how you dose (eg 1x a day or 2x smaller doses), whether or not you 'fucked' with your meds (eg. took extra one day to get high). But all of that not withstanding, the fact is you could still have enough buprenorphine left in your body 9 days later to block something as meager as a perc.

This is why I feel it is vital for anyone on suboxone to see a chart/graph of their dosing, when their blood levels level off, and simply be able to view firsthand just what it looks like when they take X amount every day at the same time, of a drug that has a mean half life of 36 hours...the overlap of suboxone dosing can be INSANE! You MUST maintain daily blood levels, by either consistently taking it EVERY SINGLE DAY (not once fucking with it, and it will level off after weeks) or find a dosing plan that will create a stable blood level (figuring out when to dose ecach day and how much of your dose: eg 4mg in the morning 2mg at night).

After all the research i've done, I am a very large proponent of once a day dosing, until you get to the sub 2mg range. and even then if you can manage 1x a day all your dose vs 2x a day half your dose....still better from the #s i've crunched.
