Heroin Od'ed the other day breifly...health concerns?

Hey Bluelighters,

pretty simple question: Im not big into opiates or heroin but 2 nights ago i got a shot of H after drinking quite a bit and briefly OD'ed. I apparently went unconsious, looked grey and pale and had no pulse for a few seconds, but i came to and felt ok a couple minutes after with no other symptoms since then.

I'm not going to even try that again and i'm lucky im not addicted, just an alcoholic. What are the implications of this event?

Should i get checked out by a doctor or should i just take this as a warning and stay away from H?

far away in the country and got no one to talk to/ no way to get into civilization at them moment...

when I od'd I was resuscitated, and transported to the ER they did run an EKG on me to make sure my heart was still functioning properly, thankfully it was. Something you might consider talking to a Dr. about.

want to get an experienced opinion since i can't easily go to a hospital....

Do you live out in the desert or in the mountains?

I'm not judging you in any way but just trying to get a feel of how you live.....last thing you should be doing is mixing alcohol with any opiate, even if you have a hospital next door, let alone far away.

I have talked to several people that have od'd & survived but not gone to the hospital & they all said they had a severe headache the next day.

Im assuming because of the lack of oxygen?

Also, I know alcohol is a gateway drug to pretty much every other drug & makes it easily to try other drugs but please use caution next time.

No matter what i or anyone else states on their experiences of an o.d., yours may have done something harmful to your body & brain or may have not.......if you're worried, go see a doctor because its impossible for anyone online to give you an accurate diagnosis of your health.

i know no one can give me a diagnosis over BL.

I just wanted advice from anyone who has more knowledge or experience.

I luckily feel totally fine 4 days later now. Was just concerned that i ABSOLUTELY need medical attention after this OD...

Thanks guys just need a sounding board cause i have limited communications in my daily life at the moment...

When I OD'd 10 years ago, I fell in a way that pinned my arm between my chest and my right leg, cutting off most circulation in it (the leg) for the better part of 5 hours. Walked funny for a week, then was okay. Got the EEG, my heart was enlarged, liver stage 3 (bridging fibroids, what you get right before cirrhosis), told I was diabetic (that was from Zyprexa), had HepC, etc. Most of that was a surprise to me (I knew I had the HepC). I was about full blown OD, had to be revived with Narcan, but obviously not insta-OD where one stops breathing - no one can go 5 hours w/o air. Anyway, last week I saw a friend go slam out OD, unresponsive to screaming, slapping in face, finally dug my nails into his nipples and twisted/pinched as hard as I could to bring him out of it (good for both of us, since next step was the balls. fml). Had to stay with him almost 2 hours before he was in out of immediate danger, tho playing doctor is not HR, it's ass-covering, tho better than just leaving someone on their own.

Short answer: you do not need to see a doctor for this, tho a regular checkup in the very near future, or physical, will let you know for sure. and do not mix alcohol with opiates again, 'less you have a death wish. srsly.

Still feeling good.

This incident has given me a good scare to stay off the booze because it has lately led to other hard drugs once i have lost my inhibition.
