summer's day sky paints the garden

pale moon takes its place as comfort for night

sitting briefly in sum underneath

counting stars plotting fantastic destinies

lovers hold a gaze to the heavens

romance is the lovely illusion to which we all strive

the silence only broken by a whispered word

curling its way through the frost of the air

caught on breath, journeys on a gust

a rapturous welcome inhales it

daylight soon comes: first shone over hills

mango-lit sight's now fluroescent

a photograph morning needs its caption, so,

in the new dawning day ruby reds
.......................................pastel pinks
.......................................envied greens
.......................................summer blues
.......................................autumn yellows
.......................................flashbulb whites greets us

and to night thanks is offered, in cheer

but now today is at hand to be written

that's an awesome opening line...I read it 3 times before I went on with the rest of the poem, it conjures all these images of a pastel sunshine slowly fleshing out the ground beneath, a flaky disarray of colour...killer first line
the silence only broken by a whispered word
curling its way through the frost of the air
ah again such wonderful imagery, a word floating on the breathless, cold air to shatter the icy silence, curling as a tendril or a finger...beautiful, great stuff! :) I really like this poem, very tranquil, calm mood and a terrific use of colourful language

This is not what I expected you to potter off and write at all! However, the final line is the one that struck me

but now today is at hand to be written
