Remember when we were so close?
We used to spend hours together,
Picking up strangers at parties
On balmy summer nights.
Laughing until our bellies hurt;
We’d always offer each other’s shoulder
You’ve distanced yourself from me,
Turned into an unreachable memory.
And I’m left standing-
You’re pretending nothing’s changed.
Of course the years weathered me,
It’s obvious thoughts are now rearranged.
Why do you not care?
I think I know what is your problem:
You know people need you, so you go and fail them.
It’s been two years already: two!
Unimaginable, indescribable passing
Of time.
Funny how with each new day that comes,
Another old one is erased from our memory.
You like playing tricks
Having your fun, getting your kicks.
You take our secrets, even the most inner
And leave us…
With nothing.
