Opioids odd question concerning tatse buds and methadone

I have recently given up an oxy addiction and switched over to 40mg methadone wafers (i am in love). I am only doing them about 4 times a week at most, I am not trying to go through meth wd's ever again. But my question is this... I have had 2 odd side effects. One is when I start to come off the methadone my skin feels really odd, like a sweater (the best I can describe it), even in my nose. That I chalk up to the skin crawly feeling of wd's. But the other is all of a sudden coca-cola tastes really weird. I thought it was the restaurant we were at. But when I got home and bought a 2 liter, it has the same taste (like dirt). Everyone says I'm crazy. But is the methadone possibly causing this? Has anyone experienced this or known someone who has? Ever heard of it? I'm really curious because it seems really weird to me.
 
I do know that methadone causes your mouth to produce much less saliva(which is what leads to alot of long term methadone users having horrible teeth because your saliva is what kills alot of the bacteria in your mouth)...so maybe this is somehow connected to the weird taste your having.

I really dont know for sure as im not an expert on the subject but im sure there are plenty people here that can give you more info and hopefully solve this mystery.
