Is taking a20mgoc and a 20mg oc the same as taking a 30mg oc while keeping the time release in tact? Took a 20 and it didnt relieve my back pain like taking 15mg of percocet would. I dont wanna suck off the time release and I want to be out of pain but I also need to go to work (which is a lot of heavy lifting) and I want to feel good not be retarded. Like said before 15 mg of percocet is a good dose for me. MUCH OBLIGED!!!;)

The coating has nothing to do with the time release. The time release is in the way the pill is made. The reason the 20 didn't do it for you is because you didn't get the whole dose at once you only got (i believe) 30-40% of the 20, and the rest slowly for however much longer a 20 lasts i'm not sure. The perc on the other hand was practically instant and you got all 15 at once.

EDIT: Plus the apap in the perc probably helped to.

With the time release in tact, you get 20% of the pill released at a time. Not much at all. If it's not helping you, crush the pill up completely and ingest it that way. Either wrap it in some TP and swallow, or just pour the powder in your mouth and wash it down with some water.

The color coating on the outside IS NOT the time release.

^ You get 30-40% of the dose and the rest released over 12 hours slowly (realistically usually around 8 hours).

OP how would taking a 20mg OxyContin be like taking 30mg oxycodone? The 20mg OC only has 20mg oxycodone in it? if you want to defeat the time-release and turn it into IR oxycodone, completely crush the pill to a fine powder and swallow it. If the drugs are prescribed legally, and it sounds like they are, talk to your doctor/pain management specialist and voice your concerns about your pain meds not relieving your pain, he'll most likely increase your OxyContin to 40mg or give you more oxycodone IR to help with breakthrough pain...

^ Yeah it's closer to 40% off the bat. I thought it was lower.

Regardless, you need to break it down and bypass the release.

damnit...what I meant was would taking a 10 and a 20 be the same thing as taking a 30...i didnt want to have to crush the pills...I like the idea of a slow steady release. The 20 is not enough and I think that a 40 would be too much. If I crushed a whole 20 then I think I would be too fucked up!

If you take a 10mg pill and a 20mg pill, then yes, it would be like taking a 30mg pill (obviously). You would then essentially be getting 10mg released initially (assumed at 30% initial release), with the remainder 20mg over time.

When you take a 10mg alone, you initially are getting only 3mg off the bat, with the rest over time.

If you think 20mg crushed would be too much for you, perhaps try half the pill crushed. You would get 10mg instant release that way. Then if it was not enough you can then take the other half, or up your dose as you would see fit until you find a comfortable level.
