I have a few OC 80's to try to help my knee's. I am used to oxy 30's. So I am not sure about the time release factor. I plan to just take a 1/2 of a 80 - so 40 of time released. Does that sound like a reasonable plan. What differences should I be aware of? Sorry to trouble you all.
:D

Is it the new formulation marked "OP 80" ? If it is, then the time release on it is a lot more effective than that of the old formula. I would still try 40mgs the first time though.

If it is the old formula "OC 80" then the difference is very little, so you won't be able to tell the difference since they are both oxycodone after all.

Looks like it says "OP" on one side 80 on the other - kinda grey blue. Much bigger than the oxy 30's.

And thank you for the adivce. 40 seems to be working fine. does it last a lot longer? Same potentiation techniques? (tagamet, grapefruit, dephenhydramine?)

Yup, those are the new formula. I don't have any personal experience with them (have refused to take the new formula) but they release the drug a lot slower than the older formula, and a lot slower than the roxy. This makes them last longer, giving you peak plasma levels of the drug 3 hours after administration, as opposed to 1hr with roxy. I am not sure if that time is from the new formula, but if anything, it would peak even longer than the time listed.

Yes, same potentiation techniques. I usually take tagamet before dosing, but with this being time released, it probably doesn't matter when you take it.
