Hey guys, I've been taking probation drug tests for a year and am almost finished. I normally attend the same lab every time. However this last time I used a different one.
The normal lab has a 100ng/mL cutoff for the Cocaine metabs (benzoylegonine).
To be a federal employee, they accept 160ng/mL as the cutoff.
However, this new lab I used, in the MS/GS print out that they faxed my probation officer, it said I was *POSITIVE* for the metabs at a rate of 64ng/mL. Their cutoff on the test was 25ng/mL
Also, most 10-panel ms/gs lab tests (ie: my normal lab) have a cut off of 300ng/mL .. Why is this one so low?
I'm really worried that this is gonna count as a violation but I really think it has to be bullshit.
Do I stand a chance of having my lawyer argue the fact that this lab has ridiculously low cutoff and that with my result I could be the fucking director of the CIA but they are gonna violate me over it?
On top of that I've been on Amoxicillin for 2 weeks and I've found several accounts of that causing a false positive anyway.
So, are they gonna say I failed cause the test said so even though the cutoff was simply so low that even every standard out there would say I was perfectly fine?
