NZ Question - New style *Morphine 100mg* LA's - any advice?

So, Sunday afternoon usual routine pick up a couple of greys and they look different - substantially more convex and slightly different markings - stamped with '100mg' as opposed to '100' - and they cook up differently too - stickier as opposed to chalky and they don't soak up the double same either - has anyone had any experience with these 'new style LAs' that they can offer? I'm a bit concerned at this point...
 
I've heard "greys" being used to describe 100mg MS Contin (Morphine) tablets, as they are grey. They are quite waxy and have 100mg imprinted on them in Australia. Maybe this?
 
they're 'misties' - morphine sulphate tabs - what most nz opiate users use [la = long acting, grey = 100mg]
 
Damn. 100mg morphine tablets sound like a fun time.

How does straight morphine in pill form compare to oxycodone?
 
Morphine is shit compared to oxycodone unless you're into IV, even then many people don't like the pins and needles rush that IV morphine produces.
 
We call them grew nurses here which are 100mg Morphine Sulphate pills. They are tiny as. I personally hate them, its a very detached feeling unlike oxys and others. Over did it (only had a whole 100mg one) and felt sick the whole next day which was very unpleasant. Not really worth it for me.

I thought all opiates worked in the same way in as much as they get converted to morphine in the body. The stronger the opiate the more of it thats converted to morphine... ie. heroin with the other extreme being codeine. Is this not the case?

If thats the case wouldnt taking straight morphine be the purest and most efficient way of getting morphine into the body?
 
Not quite. Codeine and Heroin are both prodrugs of morphine, yes, but oxycodone and other opiates aren't.

Many people enjoy heroin more than morphine partly because the change to the chemical structure allows it to cross the blood brain barrier quicker than morphine, and has a different and more pleasurable rush when IV'd.

Compared to oxycodone, morphine has a very low bioavailability unless you plan on injecting it.
 
have you had a look at a pill id website?
i guess it could be a new formulation - did you get the pills still inside the blister pack?
they could be fakes, but thats quite unlikely, have you tried one orally to confirm they
are def morphine?
 
We generally don't allow pill ID's here sorry deleuze. I'll leave this open for now and re-name in case anyone can confirm a change in this formulation?
 
update - in the end i should not have worried - just got to the same result through a slightly different path.

[belarki - you should perhaps close it down anyways - there seems to be a bit of gap in 'cultural understanding' evident in this discussion and one that i feel quite uncomfortable about being public - cheers]
