cancer 8(

His worldview was shaped by the ’60s counterculture in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he had grown up, the adopted son of a Silicon Valley machinist. When he graduated from high school in Cupertino in 1972, he said, ”the very strong scent of the 1960s was still there.”

After dropping out of Reed College, a stronghold of liberal thought in Portland, Ore., in 1972, Mr. Jobs led a countercultural lifestyle himself. He told a reporter that taking LSD was one of the two or three most important things he had done in his life. He said there were things about him that people who had not tried psychedelics — even people who knew him well, including his wife — could never understand.

During his years outside Apple, he bought a tiny computer graphics spinoff from the director George Lucas and built a team of computer scientists, artists and animators that became Pixar Animation Studios.

Starting with “Toy Story” in 1995, Pixar produced a string of hit movies, won several Academy Awards for artistic and technological excellence, and made the full-length computer-animated film a mainstream art form enjoyed by children and adults worldwide.

The purchase was a significant gamble; there was little market at the time for computer-animated movies. But that changed in 1995, when the company, with Walt Disney Pictures, released “Toy Story.” That film’s box-office receipts ultimately reached $362 million, and when Pixar went public in a record-breaking offering, Mr. Jobs emerged a billionaire.

i didn't know he was behind the company Pixar ! kudos, i loved that shit as a kid

so i think we've got a solid formula here; take LSD ► become billionaire =D

Am I the only person that's thinking if he were a stoner his whole life the THC would have quite possibly inhibited cancer and he could have lived even longer?

^ I don't know. It is certainly possible. But if he had eaten more garlic, or ginger, or broccoli, he could have lived longer, too.

What I am pleased with is the fact that LSD is being associated with intelligence and creativity in the mind of the masses. This, to me, is where it belongs.

(Not to mention healing, and insight.)

Steve Jobs was a brilliant guy. He will be sorely missed. Not to bash Apple Inc. (because I'm a huge fan and buyer of their products) - I cannot help but see a gloomy post-Jobs quarterly result.

RIP Steve - Creatively, you were truly one of a kind.

He didn't have cancer, he was HIV+ and died of AIDS because he did not believe in taking any sort of medications which would have hopefully worked and kept his CD4 and T-Cell count high. Either way Apple makes shitty products, a joke of an OS, and I don't like how they support slave labour in China. I'm not a mac fanboy and never got indoctrinated or brainwashed into their cult.

Pretty sure Apple seems to be moving their manufacturing to the US (at least there are signs, Mac Mini anyone?) and that whole Foxconn debacle was years ago. Can't really argue on the shitty product/os part as it's really subjective, but their hardware is second-to-none and the app situation on iOS is still a thousand times better than any other OS. (this is coming from a W8/Android user, have an iPad as a tablet though)

And yeah he had pancreatic cancer, not aids

Yeah it's pretty great. Hopefully we'll be able to move back to society/governments recognising the potential of psychedelics again soon enough.

He never had HIV... Not sure how that myth spread so fast.. and stayed around.

It's not a myth. Apple and their spin machine claimed it was "pancreatic cancer" but in reality he was HIV+ and died of AIDS since he refused to go on any sort of medications for it and by the end even the best meds all of his money could buy would not do any good since his immune system was very compromised and his CD4/T-Cell count very low.

The better question is how did he become HIV+? Was it from taking it, or giving it up the culo from another HIV+ man unprotected, from having unprotected sex with an HIV+ woman, or from sharing an IV with somebody who is HIV+? My money is on the first one.

so it's official then, taking lsd doesn't give you good taste or stop you from being a knobhead.

Why are you sure it was HIV? How can you possibly know that for certain when the accepted cause of death is cancer?

A copy of his death certificate says so: http://blogs-images.forbes.com/briancaulfield/files/2011/10/stevejobscertpub1.jpg and he was apparently diagnosed with it 6 or 7 years ago.

Do you really think that death certificates can't be faked, or that Steve Jobs and Apple did not have enough money to buy off doctors/medical professionals and buy a cause of death being listed as "cancer" instead of telling the truth that he died from AIDS and was HIV+?

I see this as Steve Jobs being even more of a control freak, and totally selfish and megalomania when Steve Jobs and Apple could have helped educate people about HIV/AIDS since a lot of younger people like teenagers and people in their early 20s or even early 30s have the attitude of, "HIV infection won't happen to me, people don't die of AIDS anymore, there's medications for that, the meds aren't that bad, and if I did somehow become HIV+ I'd just go on meds."

Yeah obviously they make shitty products, that's why so many people buy them. And the OS is obviously a joke too, considering how little it gets viruses unlike some other OS which way more of a joke to use than OSX.

Obviously he had alot of control to turn apple back into a profitable (and a major one at that) business. Bill gates might be a generous man and all, but damn MS make shitty products, what a failure of an OS. I guess the xbox is ok tho.

Oh wait, this thread is about LSD and steve jobs, I should try and stay on track. Im glad SJ's enjoyed his LSD, I know I sure have, especially when I was in my late teens and early 20, I had some amazing times on LSD.

What the fuck are you even talking about?

Lay off the David Icke.
