NYT: LSD, Reconsidered for Therapy

I am not confused about the results. For the control group receiving the threshold "incorrect" dose of 20 mcg, their anxiety worsened after multiple therapy sessions.

From a study in the late 70’s (Analysis of Verbal Behavior; Louis A. Gottschalk, Goldine C. Gleser, University of California Press, Jan 1, 1979.), participants who received a 40 mcg "correct" dose of LSD had anxiety reduced, but not ass much as a control group receiving water.

Sorry, but you would not know whether you received such a small dose of LSD?
You linked a study that shows a correct dose reduced anxiety. The study from this thread states that correct dose reduced anxiety while lower dose did not. This is as regards you're just having stated ", I find it remarkable that the patients in the LSD study under discussion actually had their anxiety worsened by therapy."

If you're not just trolling me, then WTF exactly is your point?

“'I’d never taken the drug before, so I was feeling — well, I think the proper word for it, in English, is dread,' said Peter, 50, an Austrian social worker, in a telephone interview; he asked that his last name be omitted to protect his identity. 'There was this fear that it could all go wrong, that it could turn into a bad trip.'
...the four subjects who took a much weaker dose got worse." (Carey)

I am simply analyzing the study. Sounds like these people may have had anxiety about taking LSD.

So we're in agreement you were completely wrong when you said "the patients in the LSD study under discussion actually had their anxiety worsened by therapy."
?
An acknowledgement would be nice after so much derailing (or 'analyzing' as you put it)

The four subjects who took 20 mcg of LSD had worse anxiety after 2 weeks of therapy.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant those given therapy, as in, without also being given the 200 mcg dose of LSD.

gotcha. On that subject, and I'm unsure one way or another, but it's worth noting that since these were terminally ill subjects, the increased anxiety may have been expected / not due to the intervention but no idea on that myself.
