So I'm new into recovery, currently tapering suboxone and down to 1 to 2ish mg. A day. Hoping by my birthday April 10, I can be completely free of everything but I'm not trying to rush anything.

I attend meetings through the VA 3x a week and have a good support network. I been "clean" for a little over 2 weeks. Been staying away from fast food n all that but my nutrition mainly consists of Rice, Chicken, Popcorn, M&Ms, Energy Drinks, Cigarettes, and grilled cheese with deli turkey on them. Needless to say if I don't get a handle on my nutrition all my weight loss during my addiction will be null n void. I lost about 30 to 40 lbs and yeah it was very unhealthy the way it was lost, I'm trying to make it a positive since everything else is negative.

I also have gotten a bicycle and once this weather warms up I'll probably bike everywhere. I also am smoking my last pack of smokes. Why get healthy and keep smoking? Lol

I'm going to get a good Multi-vitamin, Thymene, and there is one other that they say is good for you. I also am going to start cutting bad shit out of my diet and eat good foods.

Any Reccomenations?
 
Chicken, rice, cheese and turkey is all fine... The other stuff not so much. I'm sort of having writer's block at the moment but from what you listed you could make a meal of grilled chicken, rice, and some sort of greens like spinach or broccoli. Just try to focus on getting some lean protein, a carb and some sort of vegetable with your main meals. If you're trying to watch your weight just take it easy on the carbs and cut out the processed shit the best you can. Basically you want to be sticking to whole foods. Fruit, good fats like nuts, and staying hydrated is also important. Although it might be tough at first if you're used to eating a lot of junk food, one great thing about whole foods is that whole foods will fill you up and not trick your body into thinking it wants more. Anways, that's all I can think of for now.
