Nutmeg(preground) 60g - fairly experienced - energetic and dreamy

No. Sorry. I'm not going to cite sources because I couldn't be fucked. It's your responsibility to verify my information. Anyway, here it is:

Datura plants vary enormously in terms of potency. 5:1. That's the number. 5:1. So if your friend consumed a seedpod, you should eat one fifth of a seedpod. Mathematics, man. You need to treat every plant as if it is completely unique, in terms of potency. The reason that people have bad experiences with Datura is: they do not do this. The information is all there. So you had twenty seeds. Which could be a hundred seeds. On top of that you had the seedpod weight. Did you weigh it? No. You were irresponsible. Sorry. You were. It's not the same as alcohol or marijuana. It's not the same as heroin. Datura requires - and it is obvious when you read the negative trip reports, that it requires - serious restraint. If you're not willing to exercise such restraint. If you're not willing to treat every dose as if it is completely alien, then you should not do Datura. That does not mean that people should no do Dautra, or that Datura is bad. You're contributing to the negative perspective of this drug, because you aren't approaching it with sufficient caution. I don't know who your friend is. But, really, I don't care. Cause it doesn't matter. You are not your friend. And there is no way to tell whether or not you are eating seedpods from the same plant. You need to treat yourself as independent of everything and everyone. Eating half a seedpod is reckless. You need to eat a tiny fraction of a seedpod from plant A, working your way up. The next time you try Datura, you need to eat a tiny fraction of plant B, working your way up. And so on. There is no regular dose for Inoxia. Please prove me wrong. I always do my research. And I fucking love Datura. I love it.

If you drink too much alcohol, you get sick. If you eat too much Datura, you go crazy. The thing about Datura is: the recreational dose is so fragile. Delirium is beautiful. You just need to be really really really fucking careful about it. You need to surf that fine line between mental intoxication and outright insanity. The only way to do it successfully is to exercise patience. You have not. As I said, I don't care who your friend is or what he said. You can't pass of responsibility onto someone else. It is up to you. The information is there. You're the one who mentioned harm reduction, yet you don't practice it!

nutmeg was one of the worst drug experiences i have ever had. felt like i was out of touch with reality for 2 days. dry mouth, blooood red eyes, nausea, it sucked. i remember laying down on the sidewalk and looking forward and thinking that the railings on the steps were like 100yards away when they were really like 20 feet. ugh i can still remember how foul of a taste that was going down the hatch. to each his/her own tho...

^Yet another testimony. Nutmeg is not meant to be ingested (recreationally). It is just a bad drug. Of all the reports I have read about nutmeg since I have been on BL, 95% of them have been negative.

We are attempting to educate the public about psychoactive chemicals. The truth is - it is not all good. Some drugs are great, and some are to be avoided. That is all there is to it.

Thank you all for the advice and words of caution.

ForEverAfter- I have tried A. Muscaria and a lot of different opiates. Opiates are my favorite class of drug, but i don't have a steady supply and want to keep it that way. Opiates would be the end of me if I could get a lot at a reasonable price. I havent tried any of the other drugs listed, but am definitely interested.

In that case: the exception of traditional opiates and traditional psychedelics doesn't compromise the statement that most (recreationally used) drugs are potentially neurotoxic.

hmm not all recreational drugs are neurotoxic

traditional psychedelics are not for one

certain halogenated amphetamines- very neurotoxic

amphetamines (amp and meth) have neurotoxic potential for sure at high doses. mdma possibly as it hasn't been proven either way. there is a camp that thinks it is serotonin receptor down regulation that causes problems with long term abuse

mephedrone- yes supposedly but very little research on that one yet

alcohol- certainly neurotoxic

cannabis? no

each drug is different and catch all sweeping statements dont accurately reflect reality

Really interesting to see a positive report; I tried nutmeg when young; I only really tried relatively small amounts and the effects where quite pleasant and without any problems but then I was incredibly cautious in those days; some plants like nutmeg and datura, you have to be patient & scientific and methodically titrate if your going to work with them at all

Personally I can't say I enjoyed nutmeg. The taste was vile (only had 2 grams!), quite nauseating. I felt really stoned and slow for about 48 hours. Slept a lot. Nice buzz but my body felt a little poisoned. Really didn't have much energy, just lazed about and stared at the wall.

Nutmeg overview/ past experiences

Well, not to add to the argument but.. I happen to love nutmeg, and, despite that I no longer use it (I feel it was hard on my liver) I will forever hold it among my favorites! I agree that it is defiantly NOT for everyone, but I always have found that its benefits far out way the drawbacks for some, let me clarify; I have ADHD, and its not that I cant focus or learn (I score top of my class in standardized testing), its more along the lines of I can not hold a conversation or do anything that isn't challenging to me and/or draws my complete attention without changing from subject to subject very quickly. In other words, if I find myself in a situation I find shallow and uninteresting, I either will drift off into my own deep thoughts (I actually suffer from anxiety because im to often in my own head), or I will be up to some mischief getting myself in trouble.

I often would use alcohol, weed, vicoden, shrooms, oxy, or whatever I could get my hands on at the time looking for something that would give me more of a zest for average life, but it only left me with an unproductive, mindless happiness for those few hours. That is, until I tried nutmeg. It was almost like some sort of tek for extracting the "active alkaloids" of my thoughts, and separating out the waste to dispose of. I was no longer going a million miles an hour in my head; I only thought about what was necessary at the time, and I would act on those intentions with ease and passion for the task at hand. The best part was, it would last for more than an entire day!

Admittedly I did push my limits, I wanted to see just how far I could go into this relaxed, peaceful state without the side effects becoming to over bearing. In my ventures, I learned a few things...

1. In high doses (at least for me) Nutmeg can be very dissociative, but not in the traditional sense. It is dissociative in that, if you focus on something for to long, it (rather than you) will completely detach from reality. It will begin to seem extremely foreign and alien. One "nutmeg moment" iv had that I feel best portrays this goes as the following: One day, as I was sitting with a couple of my friends by the small swamp/pond in the wooded area behind the skate park, I noticed my mouth was dry, which is a common aspect of the nutmeg high. I had eating half a 60g jar 3 1/2 hours prior. As I focused on my mouth, all of a sudden something changed. it suddenly felt as if the space inside my closed mouth was infinitely immense, and my toung was an object morphing and twisting, protruding its way into this infinity. Everything around me seemed completely normal, but my mouth was a hidden universe.

2. When you buy ground nutmeg insure that its fresh and oily!! You can do this simply by taking the little jar and tip it upside down and seeing weather it stays clumped at the bottom of the jar like wet dirt, or weather it falls to the lid like sand. Even if it does stay clumped at the bottom, give it a few good taps and see if it still stays in clumps, if yes, well then you got yourself some good nutmeg! :) If you find yourself eating 3/4 of the jar or more to even get some effects.. STOP! Either that nutmeg is crap and your going to feal sick, OR nutmeg just aint your thing and your going to feal sick.

GOOD LUCK! :)

Absolute harm reduction would require us to tell the world that all drugs are evil.

Maybe you're thinking of harm prevention. Harm reduction comes from the understanding that people are going to engage in risky behaviors no matter what. There is always someone who's going to huff a propellant or eat black widows or whatever else to achieve a new high. Harm reduction is best served when we don't forbid that people do such drugs; it's best served when we mitigate the harm a drug does by informing people of what they're doing, which is where you're coming from. It's a helluva lot better than saying, "nooo, don't do it! It's evill!"

FTR, I'm another person who has enjoyed his nutmeg. It was the closest thing to cannabis that I could legally use at once point, and it did not disappoint. And I don't think it is at all comparable to the more typical deliriants like DPH. Nutmeg is more like being really stoned, but without the paranoia. I taken up to 11 whole seeds (ground), at one time. I was really, really high, but didn't have the same short term memory I had on DPH. If nutmeg is a deliriant, it's not a very good one :\

You have to get it fresh, the fresher the better. No Mccormicks or generic brands, even the whole pods from these won't work all they do is give you a terrible stomach ache and nausea which tell me this aspect of nutmeg is not caused by it's psychoactive components. The first few times I did nutmeg I got a really fresh potent brand, it was like a light dosing of LSD, Pot and MDMA. The day after was hell yes but I would do it again for the effects. I moved away from that state where I got that nutmeg though and have no access to really good nutmeg anymore the "Fresh" brand I've found around here work but are no where near as potent and are always a disappointment.

Ingesting it is no longer an issue for me. Just put it in pudding, yogurt, apple sauce, milk shake, etc anything gooey really. It's not the taste but rather the suspension of it to get rid of the sawdust feeling going down your throat. Gulp it down like pills with water or soda.

Yes nutmeg is a shit drug so lets not get into that. But when you have access to nothing else and are doing only purely legal highs it is among the better drugs in terms of cheapness and availability.

I usually dont post in this forum, but I have to chime in here. It's extremely irresponsible for anyone to be defending the use of datura, brugmansia, and anticholinergic "deleriants" in general. These things are poisons. The delerium is a side effect of anticholinergic poisoning. There is no way to induce this effect without also subjecting your body to extreme risks, and any dose that produces delerium is coming dangerously close to a potentially fatal dose. Furthermore, as it is impossible to accurately gauge the levels of alkaloids in any given plant sample, anyone attempting to acheive a delirious state by ingesting these plants, for whatever reason, is in fact gambling with their lives.

I do understand that these plants are used by some shamans for religious/spiritual purposes, but such individuals usually have been educated for years and are under the direct guidance and supervision of someone much more experienced.

If anyone here considers themselves to be some kind of shaman, that's fine. Do you. But I think to describe such plants as anything other than dangerous poisons, on a public forum based on harm reduction, is counter productive and potentially harmful.

I will share my experience: I tried taking a bottle of it about 10 years ago when my ex-gf told me about it and said you can get high from it. I did not believe her and wanted to try for myself. Took the whole bottle. Hour(s) passed, nothing.

Went to bed, began to experience euphoria, mild visuals and started laughing a lot. Very good experience, lasted around 30min to 1 hour. Followed by vomiting, dizziness and difficulting moving for almost 8 hours afterwards.

Verdict: Never again! Be warned, serious side effects do not warrant use IMHO.
