Another one that is older, not too much older though . . . I wrote this after a visit from an old friend I hadn't seen in years . . .


astringent numbness
the idea that others are
mobile
while you just
stagnate
stuck in place
same film on the tv
same cd in the player
has it really been
five years?
six?
numbing away the thoughts of
loss
unmatched potentia
being
passed up
staid
but in my mind I'm still
running away
numbness is the only way to face
