just got back from a 80 person house party with a live band... 2 noise complaints, left when my boy started a fight and the third cop was coming, lol

What up CD Social? I don't frequent these boards very often anymore, but I figure I'd get your guys' input on stoner etiquette. I kinda know the answer already, but I thought it'd be kinda fun to see the reactions..
Anyways, I went to Burning Man this year, and a friend of a friend ended up cat/apt sitting for us for the week. We told the chick, who seemed to be cool (we didn't really know her), to make herself at home. After all, she came back early from her own vacation in Humboldt to take our keys. At her request (kinda fishy, now that I think back on it), I even said that it was okay to use my bong. A week later, we return home, and our cat is nice and lively, which was expected, considering we paid her for it.. We take a look around the apt, and the place is moderately taken care of- no parties or anything. Not pristine as when we left it, but then again, we paid her to cat-sit, not to be a housemaid, so we thought nothing of it.
She comes around to drop off the keys and admits that she took my bong out of the apt for a day, but added that 'it was nicely protected and taken care of.' Rude, I thought, but whatever, no harm done. She lingered a bit longer than we had wanted- we were exhausted from Exodus and the car ride home, but again, I thought nothing of it.
Upon closer inspection following her departure, I found that she fkn smoked all my kief! It was in the grinder, and there was probably 2-3g, if not more. I wouldn't know exactly, since I usually just collect it and save it for when I'm dry, but I do know that it's been months since I even opened the bottom. Now all that's left is probably enough to sprinkle onto a few bowls. I know for sure that she helped herself because the grinder's collector was loose when I picked it up, and I usually have it tightly screwed on. Now, it's not a huge deal to me, as I've cut back ALOT recently, and I think of myself as a pretty laid back guy when it comes to those kinds of things, but wtf?
What kind of etiquette is that? You'd think a fellow stoner would know not to dip into someone else's stash. She obviously made herself QUITE at home. Thoughts/comments?

i'd be pissed off, my boy did that to me not to long ago but by accident. He just assumed stupidly that he should empty every compartment for the blunt.
Regardless, I think you know who you shouldn't ask to cat sit next time. That's the same as stealing, but shittier, since you can't narc.

i don't hide shit in my house, if someone uses my shit without asking it's simply the last time they get to chill in my crib.
you really shouldn't have to hide a grinder, I mean I can understand hiding a bunch of roxi 30s or something, but i leave my grinder and bong laying out everywhere. I guess it's how much you trust your environment, im with vader on this one though

I left a grinder out once, my ex-roommate's mom came and cleaned up, and threw it out not knowing it was for weed! (She encouraged weed, she would have never tossed it knowing what it was!)
I agree though, I've lived with a good deal of roommates I didn't know at this point, and we never so much as locked our doors. I would recommend putting stuff away in your house, but you should NOT have to hide it. Depends on the person though, my dad hides his valium script for no reason, and I leave my klonopin script laying out just about anywhere (other than the bathroom cabinet of course!)
I'd be very upset with what that chick did. This is a bit different than what I mentioned because they were roommates so there is a mutual respect, but they were still strangers when I met them. You told her to make herself at home, but removing your bong from your house and smoking your kief clearly did not seem like part of the deal. Sometimes, it's kinda tricky...I don't think you should necessary flat out bitch her out for it, but maybe reconsider who you give access to your home to next time, regardless the reason.

i have lent my grinder to people, who after having used it extensively, thought that any keif was from their own ground up pot.
i chocked it up to my fault for leaving it in their and not explicitly stating, "the layer of kief in my space case is mine dont touch that or I will murder yer fase".
it sucks, but there is an explanation for it.

In regards to the keif, I can't completely blame her for what she did- I should have known better and put the grinder away completely. While she could have thought that it was all hers from the herb that she ground up, I find that a tough sell- there were a couple G's of kief, and she was only supposed to be here every other day. Regardless, it's just some kief, and it sucks, but it's better than having our electronics/ more important possessions jacked. The bong thing kinda threw me off tho- who does that? 
We didn't even know her until the night we left- I certainly would not even consider asking to use a stranger's bong if I was just supposed to house-sit. To each their own, I guess.
In the end, she def over-extended her invitation to 'make herself at home', and we probably won't be in contact anytime soon. heh.

^ wasn't really an option; we didn't want to board our cat. I hit girlie up, and she apologized and said she used the kief for a joint. 3g of kief of a joint.. haha. Sounds like someone has some major judgement issues. She also went ahead and said 'I would have asked you, but you had no cell signal'. No response to a permission request = approval? lolz. Not welcome in my home.
