Noticeable effects of the neurotransmitters

Not sure whether this is the right forum for this.

Was wondering if anyone knows the physical signs of higher/lower levels of serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline?

Was curious to find out, so I know what chemicals are doing what, if that makes sense.

For instance, I've heard that Serotonin is responsible for pupil dilation, but I've also heard that noradrenaline does this.

Am I the only one who finds it a bit strange that marijuana is in all the 'compensate' bits?

Actually marijuana is not but alcohol is - both drugs have very broad direct and indirect pharmacological effects.

It's certainly not the best chart and far from comprehensive, but it was more to demonstrate how easy it is to find such searching elsewhere.

It is very important to note that just because e.g. you can't concentrate, erroneously attributing that to a "dopamine deficiency" is liable to get you digging to the bottom of pits you shouldn't be in.

I've been wondering this myself lately just never searched it. Of course on that chart those are just things that MAY mean a deficiency. Only real way to know is a trip to the doctors I suppose.

AS YOU CAN SEE, many neurotransmitters act in similar ways....

Increased heart rate
Serotonin, Dopamine, Norepinephrine

Increased respiration rate
Serotonin, Dopamine, Norepinephrine

Pupil dilation
Serotonin, Dopamine, Norepinephrine

Vasoconstriction
Serotonin, Dopamine, Norepinephrine

Vasodilation

Increased Energy

or OVERACTIVITY or... endless possibilities

Ha well I ask because when I'm totally sober my eyes sometimes look dilated even in light. People at school would sometimes think I was on drugs because my pupils looked big when I wasn't on anything.

I know some eye disorders (like astigmatism) can do that

I knew a guy with astigmatism in one eye, one dilated pupil one normal

Some people also just have naturally larger or smaller pupils. As long as the pupil size doesn't vary a huge amount under the same light conditions, shouldn't be an issue. I personally also have pretty large pupils even in fairly bright light.
