I mean I don't assume (yes, I know, bear with me) that anything is unquestionably true.
I make assumptions. I assume that I have to eat to survive, for example.
But, I don't assume that I'm alive in the first place.

I live this life as if it is a life, but - at the same time - I don't assume that it is not a dream.
If there are truths, I think it's likely that they are paradoxical.

We are here, and we are not here.

We see the planet in a certain way. Other animals see it other ways.
Trans-dimensional beings might not perceive it as a planet at all.
Is there a "correct" way to see it?
I don't know and I don't assume so.

Is life a dream?
I don't know.

This feels like another long semantic circular discussion.
I've explained myself enough. I don't want to keep clarifying it.
Rather than trying to disprove what I'm saying, really consider it.

Practically, certain assumptions have to be made.
But I don't take anything for granted.

I take this to mean you believe an actual fact of the matter doesn't exist OR if it does it is impossible to know.
Now like I have said, we can't be 100% sure of anything, but that doesn't mean we don't accept things as factual based off of reasonable assumptions.
e.g. I assume if I put my hand in a wood chipper my hand is no longer going to be apart of my reality. This is a very safe assumption based on the knowledge I have of reality.

Yes, it seems contradictory to me I won't lie to you.
I know what you mean , but I'm saying it's possible you may be accepting assumptions as fact and not realizing it.
Moreover, it's possible you may subconsciously not want anything to necessarily be true.
That was my point.
Try not to take my opinion to heart, I'm not saying it's necessarily true.

Reality ( and we) may be a "presistent illusion", but until I have more evidence it is than it isn't, I'm going with the the assumption I'm alive (for the moment) and I'm somewhere. And this somewhere has direct cause and effect relationship and consequences necessarily flow from this.

I agree semantics are inhibiting our little discussion. I'm an inquisitive person by nature. I'm not trying to play gotcha or prove you wrong.
I sincerely just don't understand where you are coming from.
It's cool tho, you (or anyone) doesn't have to completely explain their world view. Sometimes it's hard to explain the details.

Believing that it is impossible to know means that I know it is impossible to know.
And I don't know that.
